Cool video that’s the DSR right I work there as a river patrol during salmon season beautiful place to fish I’m going up in a few days can’t wait to get into some fish I run jigs a lot but great job and tight lines god bless
@@Guitarguy0522 Oh that's awesome! I'm sure I've seen you in passing, I'm up there quite a bit. Good luck while you're up there hopefully they're biting on your jigs, I heard this is a great time of year for that! God bless!
Great footage, editing and nice intro! Saying, “ …steelhead keep the heartbeat of the rivers going throughout the cold winter months…” showed real poetic talent, Ben! God’s blessings.
What’s up man! I was using Rod: MAGS custom rainshadow RX8 (13’ 6-10lb. rating) Reel: kingpin R2 475 Mainline: 14lb stealth line from “centerpin angling” Leader: 8lb. Sunline FC sniper Float: 7&8 gram balsa floats Split shot: SSG, AAA, and BB size Raven soft shot Hook: vanfook ringed chinu size 3&4 Bait: “drifteez” or “Great Lakes steelhead co.” Beads If you would like to watch, I did a small gear breakdown in my last video “two rivers, one day”. I went over gear in that video at the 12:29 minute marker. Thanks for watching!
What’s up Preston! So in this video I am using a “centerpin reel” and it looks very similar to a fly reel but has a different function. My centerpin reel is spooled with monofilament line and spins freely so that the rivers current can naturally take my bobber and bait presentation down river. That is why my reel is spinning a lot of the time. I use my rod to set the hook because the rod I’m using is 13’ long and has a moderate fast action. So when my float goes down and is very far from me the length and action of that rod allows me to set the hook on fish even when they are very far away. Thank you for watching brother!
Thank you again for watching! Please feel free to leave feedback, recommendations, or questions. I look forward to hearing from you all, God bless!🙌

@@siguy9693 yes! Whatever that means😂👍
(Asking this question as a fly fishing newbie): how come you set with your rod instead of a strip set?
