No way!! You have two subscribers here watching from right down the street from Big Carlos Pass (we live in the area)! My boyfriend introduced me to your channel because I just recently started fishing and you’re one of the most helpful channels for a beginner!
That's awesome, Kristin! You folks have so many productive spots around you. I was certainly astonished by the amount of species that came up that day! Send my regards to your boyfriend as well, and thanks for watching and following EPF on social media.
You’re easily the most scientifically informative TH-cam channel I watch. Thanks for your fishing knowledge... When you come to MD, I would love to go fishing with you and maybe Mike ~1R1R and catch some lifers!
Dude you should just follow your mom for any future trips. She really goes in like your dad. Great videos bro. I really enjoy watching and the knowledge. Thank you man.
I really love watching these videos with your parents you are truly a great son to them bringing them out like this and cherishing every moment you can with them. I do the same with my parents we fish together and some of my best memories I will always cherish with my parents have been on fishing trips.
I love the respect and honor that u show for the fish . I cannot say that for a lot of other channels and that is frustrating . even if u ended up keeping the fish, u weren't a jerk about it MUCH RESPECT MY FRIEND
The red grouper is quite unusual because if you were to keep the fish it must be minimum 20 inches tail length but it’s open year round. You should fish across the Central Florida area as there are a ton of fishing spots here. Start in Daytona beach near the Main Street pair, Daytona the sunglow pier, head a bit further to the Ponce Inlet Jetty (worth the view even if you catch nothing), new Smyrna beach which is attached to ponce inlet, Merritt island landing area right next to Ms apples crab shack ( it a dock area that doesn’t do cast nets but is fine with normal fishing), Parrish park in cocoa beach, in Titusville there are two places right across from each other perfect for fishing Veterans memorial fishing pier and lee wenner park literally right next to each other and these are just saltwater fishing spots. Freshwater spots are usually the lakes and river systems try the wekiwa springs river, lake lotus, and the Conway lake chain. It’s worth the visit.
You can buy a tiny pump for reanimations, it uses oxigenated water and if stuff goes bad it has electric pulses that you can activate I already used it on my pet koi
When you come out to San Diego again, target "Corbina" in the surf using a Crig and sand crabs. Corbina look EXACTLY the same as your "kingfish" but you can get them bigger in SD.
My family and I have caught several nice dinners worth of grey snapper (mangrove) at that same spot over the years during our summer vacations. Live shrimp free lined or with a split shot between the pilings works well. If the "greenies" are running, you can cast net them and maybe get some other species as well as the mangroves.
One of my favorite spots here in ft myers. Theres some great snook action if you head up to the gulf side of the beach too. And a BUNCH of tarpon around may/june
Leo I love this series! First Miami, now Fort Myers! You need to come to Tampa now! Hit Fort DeSoto, Skyway Pier, Courtney Campbell Causeway, Weedon Island State Park
Extreme Philly Fishing I’ve seen! Just hoping you come back! The bite will be picking up, Spoons, gotcha plugs, pinfish/grunts and shrimp will catch you many snapper, mackerel, kingfish(potentially), grouper and potentially Tarpon and Snook at the Skyway. Shrimp or Mangrove tree crabs(can be harvested from the trees near Gandy Bridge) will get you plenty of snapper and Sheepshead at weedon and throughout the bay. There are so many options! I’d love to be of service and help! -Best regards from the USF Fishing Team and I!
So cool man my grandma lives there you should go fish the canals and sananbel island if you have time there is great trout fishing on the grass on the bridge to sanible
Every time I mention that you posted a vid to my little brother, he always yells at me until I actually let him watch it. He always tries to follow along with the intro too😂
I fish that bridge all the time. There’s are big snook and Goliath on that bridge around the deep pilings. That whiting would have been a perfect bait to drop down there
I have a tip for you for releasing spanish mackeral Leo. Mackeral are a fish species that never stop moving almost like a jack, so Instead of holding them in the water and slowly moving them side to side, you need to shoot them back into the water head first almost like you are throwing a touchdown. This will create a fast rush of water into their gills, that will should revive them.
I do appreciate the information, but I am seriously not a believer of the _"head throw."_ It is my personal belief -- after reading many books -- that if a fish is strong and robust enough to swim away, it will swim away on its own. The biggest blunder with the _head throw_ is that the angler sees the fish "swim away," however, that doesn't necessarily means that the fish was revived properly. And thus, moments later, sometimes the fish dies. Thus, I would rather revive it properly and see how the fish does. If it is strong enough, it goes. If it doesn't go and it is legal to take, I take. If it doesn't go and it is illegal to take, I release anyways cuz that's the only option then (though, if it is below the minimum size or a rare/endangered species, I usually unhook it in the water or take extra measures to ensure that it doesn't die)
When casting through pelagics, use thicker leader or wire leader/trace and keep a constant fast wind speed. You don’t have to set the hook because their bite at that speed does it for you. Reason for wire is because they can easily miss the lure at this speed and bite the line.
I just caught 3 new species fishing the sunshine skyway pier on Sunday! New species: blue runner (caranx Crysos I believe) lane snapper (Lutjanus synagris) and the Atlantic Spanish mackerel (scomberomorus maculatus) and I caught so many other species as well that I already had on my species list like the pinfish (lagodon rhomboides) and the inshore lizard fish (I can't remember the scientific name) but just thought it would be cool to share
Hey Leo. What brand a polarized glasses do you recommend? I have $20 Walmart glasses but I can't see fish in the surf for nothing. Thanks for all the awesome videos! You should throw some sandfleas if you're still in Florida.
I don't know, Mace. I bought a pair of Oakley glasses for $100+, and those are the ones that I would recommend. It seems expensive at first glance, but you can use it for MANY MANY YEARS if you take good care of it, not to mention that the polarized lenses are 🔥🔥🔥.
Just so ya know when you release mackerel and tunas and jacks you throw them head first into the water and that way they get that boost of water and I’ve saved many fish lives doing that :)

Extreme Philly fishing: awesome, you release fish how you release fish! But I just think it’s awesome you replied to my comment! You’ve inspired me to multi species fish!! I currently have 61 species on my list!! By the way great video!! Keep up the great work!!😀
Hey Leo! Big fan of your video and camera setup! I want to go ahead and purchase the Go-Hero camera you have with the mic you have listed in your description. But it's $400! Some questions: 1) Do you feel like the Hero 6 or 7 is comparable? It's newer model and about $100 cheaper. 2) What is your configuration for the go-hero camera? Is it 4k? Wide? 24 Frames per second? 3) Does the mic make that big of a difference? The camera does have good sound quality? Let me know bro! Thanks
Hey, EPF, have you ever caught an Oncorhynchus gorbuscha or an Oncorhychus tshawytscha? I checked your species list and I cant find 'em. What about the Perca fluviatillis or the Urobatis jamaicensis or the Sanopus spledidus or the Micropterus cataractae? Your welcome. 😁
Man...I may have overestimated that fish! I kept it outside of the water for a bit and it was game over. Thankfully, it was amazing cut bait for the rest of the day! #nowaste
Yo I love watching your videos what's ur heaviest catch plus species im assuming it's ganna be over 50 pounds ur so good at fishing u motivate me to go fishing
Bruh I can barely remember what day of the week it is and your over here knowing all the fish you catch names and there scientific names
It certainly took a little while to memorize some of those. 😎
I was just about to ask the same think 👍
Leo ,That is a true skill you have to catch those tiny fish on hook and line.
Thank you, Bill! It does take a lot of finesse to land some of those micros. More than people realize. 😁
No way!! You have two subscribers here watching from right down the street from Big Carlos Pass (we live in the area)! My boyfriend introduced me to your channel because I just recently started fishing and you’re one of the most helpful channels for a beginner!

Grilled Spanish mackerel with tomatoes, onions and garlic is lowkey Amazing
🤤🤤🤤 Sounds like it.
Glad your parents had some shade to stand in. The Florida sun can take it's toll on ya !
Definitely, Robert! I always take the sun into consideration when I take my parents out. Thus, in all spots we hit there was a shaded area.
Haha right!
I just did the intro by myself(I hope you don’t mind)... although, I feel like I’m not the only one to... awesome action buddy
Not at all! 😁 And thanks for watching.
You’re easily the most scientifically informative TH-cam channel I watch. Thanks for your fishing knowledge... When you come to MD, I would love to go fishing with you and maybe Mike ~1R1R and catch some lifers!
Been watching you for years. I've seen every video and I'm rewatching a couple tonight. I have to say, I live for this intro lol

I appreciate the suggestions, andy! Thanks for sharing. I will keep them in mind.

I already used it on my pet koi
You squeezed him like a burrito man! I can see the bruising on him in the shape of your hand!!! Cmon man!!
Now thats what im talking about. That spot was awesome. Can't wait until the next episode 👍
When you come out to San Diego again, target "Corbina" in the surf using a Crig and sand crabs. Corbina look EXACTLY the same as your "kingfish" but you can get them bigger in SD.
Thank you for the suggestion, Dog Dude Drone. I will keep it in mind!
You should come fish some of the back waters here in North Georgia. I really enjoy watching you fish brother.
Thank you for the suggestion, Patrick! I will keep it in mind.
My family and I have caught several nice dinners worth of grey snapper (mangrove) at that same spot over the years during our summer vacations. I love how that searobin wasn't taking any of your shit. That sob bit you right back! Fun video mang.
I fish here all the time. I wish i knew you were going to be in my area.
HAPPY 250th EPF
Thank you, Ted!!! I appreciate it.
Your mom and dad are fun...... you have a unique situation..... it's all good....
One of my favorite spots here in ft myers. Theres some great snook action if you head up to the gulf side of the beach too. And a BUNCH of tarpon around may/june

I have been to Tampa already, Justin! The whole series is on the Channel. Though, I may go back in the future, of course.
-Best regards from the USF Fishing Team and I!
So cool man my grandma lives there you should go fish the canals and sananbel island if you have time there is great trout fishing on the grass on the bridge to sanible
I always hoped you would come to Ft. Myers! Used to have a place down there! Fishing is usually great! Awesome Leo.
It was a beautiful place, Michael! Definitely worth visiting and fishing.
Congrats on hitting 250 species, Leo! That's quite an accomplishment.
The balm to my soul is at 4:05 (maybe yours too, if you're looking for it).
Every time I mention that you posted a vid to my little brother, he always yells at me until I actually let him watch it. He always tries to follow along with the intro too😂
That's awesome. Send my regards to your brother, and thanks for watching!
@@extremephillyfishing I will! Thank you!
Edit: he said "Tell Leo I said THANK YOU!!!
Always a good day when EPF uploads
I appreciate all the love and support, funnyrat.
13:44 I just imagined you saying that like the late ODB...
😂😂😂
I'm so happy you had a good day I'll be on fort myers pier well in the water next to the pier tomorrow enjoy man good luck
I fish that bridge all the time. There’s are big snook and Goliath on that bridge around the deep pilings. That whiting would have been a perfect bait to drop down there
Round 2 now to momma epf..... my man ahahahaha loving the scenery and multi species, but love mom put the smack down on you again. 250 SPECIES MARKER!
This time of year the water is so hot it makes the fish a lot more fragile. It's like they are pre cooked lol
That's so true! Water temperature definitely plays a role in how fast they die if not promptly returned to the water.
Always love the Florida videos, good to see the folks doing well and the master of the Shaolin Hook set slaying them. Good work as always brother!
Great video keepem coming
Glad that you enjoyed it, Joe! Thanks for watching.
Congrats Leo on getting your lifer Gulf Whiting. You really should try eating some next time. They are by far the best tasting of the Kingfish.
I have a tip for you for releasing spanish mackeral Leo. I've seen Josh from BlackitpH do that with with some types of fish. They are like sharks and don't not move.
Nice spot👀🎣👍🏼
If you go down to the curve of the beach towards to gulf there is a sandbar out there and I accidentally caught 2 small sharks out there!
Need to turn that mackerel into food for people, but you can use the mackerel belly cut into strips as the best cut bait. Keep the skin on.
Great video!!!
Thank you, Paul! I am glad that you enjoyed it.

I have fished that bridge before huge tarpon there
I believe it, Tevin! The center Channel seemed to be great too, fished from the bridge.
This is why I like Florida
oh man haha places like this looks gr8 for lure fishing.
Leo, how many species of shark do you have? ^^
Looking forward to more Florida adventure videos!
Only a few! The lifelist hyperlink is in the description of the video (smugmug), Haitaka.
Keep up the great work!!
Will do, Silas! Thanks for watching.
Dude you are right by my home town I live in Naples and love you’re videos

Amazing work!!!
Thank you, Dynamic Gamer!
Wouldn’t mind seeing you + parents on a fishing tour boat to see you what you can catch in deep
One of these days, for sure, Andy! Thanks for the suggestion.
Extreme Philly Fishing I guess charter boat is more proper
Hey EPF! Do you have a master species list that I can look at? Whenever I see/catch something unusual around NJ, I wonder if you've caught it!
Hey Leo. What brand a polarized glasses do you recommend? I have $20 Walmart glasses but I can't see fish in the surf for nothing. Thanks for all the awesome videos! You should throw some sandfleas if you're still in Florida.

🔥🔥🔥 Thanks for all the love and support, Hugo!
Watching the ads helps support the content creator?
How's the fishing on the other side of the bridge? Like near those hotels that's where I'm gonna be for a week or so
Awesome Spanish man and great content keep it up🤙🏾
Great video. Loved it.
Love ur videos epf
Glad to hear that you enjoy them, Darrell. Thank you!
Is that a sedona combo? I have 3 of them. Best budget or loaner combo out there.
Can you come to colorado? There is awesome bass, walleye, panfish, and, or course, rainbun chrowt! Just messing with you, have a good day!
I appreciate the suggestion! Thanks for sharing, Colorado Fly Guy.
Thanks, leo!
Finally a fort Myers trip. We should meet up next time
Back in Florida ❗️
I’m trying not to be jealous 😀
Dang!!! Your mother rules 🙋🏼👏🏼
Man...she has been on fire when it comes to the species!!!

If it is not on the lifelist, then I haven't it yet. 😁
What bait are you using for the king fish
love the videos leo!
Glad to hear, Landen! Thanks for watching.
What book do you use to identify fish species?
EPF likes it raw. love it. lol
Oh hell yeah. Raw is good, my man.
EPF likes it raw🤣
hey leo your mom catches all the fish you dont have lol. her luck or fishing is amazing lol. might have to take some tips from her lol.
That is so true, Tyriece! I am often frustrated when she pulls a random or rare species right in front of me. Haha.
Leo the fish went belly up because the fish needs to move forward to get water through it’s gills
Man...I may have overestimated that fish! I kept it outside of the water for a bit and it was game over. Thankfully, it was amazing cut bait for the rest of the day! #nowaste
Loved the delayed intro😂😂😂
Thanks for stopping by, Chris!
Though I been subbed to you longer, I kinda wanna see what you can do with Marling Bait's lures
It will come, Bob. Don't worry! 😁
When are you coming back to Louisiana?

I actually don't know! I have caught a few unusual species of fish, but nothing extremely rare yet.
Killed 'em this past week at that exact same spot. Several snappers, jack crevalle. and an Atlantic spade fish.
Nice video by the way✊
Love your videos Leo. Did you get your love of fishing from your parents, or did they get it from you ?
20:22 that laugh tho 🤣😂
WHEN U SAID " LADY FISH "
I THOUGHT U CAUGHT A MERMAID. 😂
Spanish Markel sashimi or better yet ceviche it....
