Absolutely without a doubt! His work shop looks nothing short of a laboratory that you might find in in NASA LOL (should they move over to making Boxer engines LOL!
I love this guys work. I respect the workmanship and skill he put in to every engine. This guy is not a mechanic. I would call this guy a proper professional mechanic. I only wish my engine was looked after by this guy
I have to say, aside from the subject matter, the photography and editing in these is really amazing. Not a word spoken and yet more info than any I have ever watched.
It almost brings tears to my eyes to watch such a meticulous and skilled professional working on these beautiful engines. Watching these videos reinforces my belief that anything worth doing, is worth doing RIGHT.
Hello I am your subscriber from Russia, Tikhoretsk. I really like your workshop and your videos about the repair of Subaru engines, they are the best and detailed. I own a Subaru Forester XT 2.0 turbo 2003. and we have a big problem to find a good master, and especially for Subaru they are all afraid and very expensive$, so you have to do yourself thanks to your video. Thank you for your work and God bless you.
Hello Handyman! I ride Subaru over 30 years, the first was "Legacy". In 2005, the I turned to the "Impreza" 2.5 ccm. without the turbo, to be sure that Subaru is the best family car in the world. Yours from Canada.
I had no idea these had a hollow crankshaft...no wonder they can get the revs....essential in a Formula 1 ..or any other race car thank you for posting
Yes I would love to have one of those aqua blasting machines. I thought it was a glass bead or shot bead blaster from other videos and was wondering how it came out so clean. Now I understand. Cool stuff
Silly question perhaps but what happens if you find a problem when inspecting the crank and crank case bores (after you have done all that cleaning)? Also, do certain parts have to go back in the same place i.e. were they balanced at the factory? Thanks great video production and thanks even more for lack of music!
Smooth rocker covers, but only 6-bolt, and centre thrust bearing. So this is a 96-98 EJ20K, out of a Ver. 3 or 4 STi. Nice! My fave, nice and simple oldschool performance!
He used a STI, (steel thread insert), to repair the thread. Can be bought in a kit, (drill, special tap, inserts and a tool to install them), This is a must if you do a lot mechanical work.
Always good job, but I sow you measuring the crack dimeter and the cylinder mane bearings, So where’s the mean bearings thickness? Please tell me the trick. Thanks
Love these detailed videos. Plz keep them coming. Just as an idea maybe you could do a high power engine build showing every step by step procedure kinda like a marathon series? Saw the three vid 800 hp one and loved it.
Beautiful Work! What is the brand name of the gasket scraper? Where to buy it? And second, what is the product you are spraying before scraping old gasket?
The main difference on these EJ25 and the following generation EJ25 is the change from the thrust bearing being in the middle vs later being placed in the back, right? In The States, I'm pretty sure this comes from a 1998-1999 Outback/Forester/Impreza with DOHC. The second generation EJ25 was from 2000-2005 SOHC, then from 2006- 2012 the heads changed over to VVT SOHC. All non aspirated. Please let me know if I'm wrong.
@@christiangraham4579 It's right around 2011... I'm assuming you're talking about switching over from a timing belt to a timing chain. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Rodrigo Sagebin yup I think that was the first year they introduced the timing chain motors with dual overhead cams with rollers and two pets instead of rocker arms assembly. But they kept using the belt motors on the outback’s and other models.
Gasket removal fluid similar to brake parts cleaner? Nice gasket residue remover. I have a similar one. Still waiting on my 1995 honda odyssey cylinder head it's at the machine shop. Bent valves.
I was interested in watching this video series because I had a Subaru Legacy Outback - bought it new in 2000... at about 140,000 KMs, the head gaskets started leaking. Apparently that was an ongoing problem with those engines - it was a 2.4 litre four cylinder model as I recall... Could you please comment on that head gasket defect issue? Thank you.
Its an expandable/adjustable reamer made by the German manufacturer Ludwig Hunger. www.ludwig-hunger.de/english/ludwig-hunger/products/product-range-reamers/type-u-adjustable-expanding-reamers/index.html These are very valuable tools to have and also come in sets, but better sit down before you ask for prices.
Is that an 106 S1 Rallye In the back?
Matthew Gilliver yeahhh
Very relaxing please more videos like these with no music just the sound of metal contacts.
Who want a video about the Peugeot 106 rallye ?
UPLOAD it, i would wish to watch

This is hands down the boxer engine content on TH-cam.

Please keep creating those videos.
Thumbs up!

Anyone else like to que up some good music and grab a cup of tea or coffee and watch these?
I was wondering if the mains were out of round? Then I watched till the end, the last 2 minutes made my heart happy 🤗
What is the spray you used to remove the silicone gasket? And what is that wet blast cabinet, that thing looks awesome!
Jeff Flanagan probably some type of adhesive remover.
Isn't it just water??
Its called "Bremsenreiniger" Brake cleaner :)
Best videos of engine work.
What are you using in the parts washer ? Seems to do an awesome job !
Another great video!!! no words, no music, only rebuild!
Subaru makes engines that works good and for a very long time. I am waiting for part 2. Very impressive work.
3:56 - 4:15 So satisfying 👌🏼nice job.
Amazing content!!! I watched that Subaru master mechanic video over and over again. But these videos are way better!
Excellent video! I love seeing engines, and just mechanical things in general, be restored and brought back to life!
I’m so addicted to all your videos man.. keep em coming!! 👍🏼

nice work!!! can you make a video showing how the aqua blast machine works???

great camera work. Like watching a foreign film
Parabéns. Excelência elevada á máxima potência!

Beautifully produced video! I really enjoyed it guys
Great video man! I just found your channel. Nice work and that shop is sweet!
love watching videos like this, my only gripe is watching him use a steel brush on aluminum to clean the surfaces.
Ok now that is awesome. Absolute quality stuff, love it.
When clean oil galleries...is there a way to see if they are blocked? Or the air gun is enough?

Thanks for another great video. What's the de-greaser you use in the little spray bottle? it seems to work great
What is in the white pressurized bottle that you spraying the gasket surface?

Andre, what maintenance and service should I do on a 1998 boxer engine at 300,000 miles?

Whats that aqua blast thing?
I wish a tiny bit that i understood what all the measurements are for and why etc. but im sure he will drop a video about it soon
Many of the checks were for size, he was also checking for roundness.
Ist es nicht günstiger ein neuer Block zu Kaufen, statt das aufwändige sauber machen?
any thoughts on why these engines start using oil?
