This how kobe learned to embrace the hate when he was playing, he embraced the negativity, Bill Russell really helped kobe coped with things only bill got when he was playing in the nba at that time. Jordan never faced this, magic never faced this, bird never faced this, certainly lebron didn't faced this. Kobe to this day will go down as the most hated and the best villian of all time.

Yea that era gets dismissed to often. Everyone says it was easy because of 12 teams. That is just like playoff basketball all year round. Every team knows each other well. They didn't have todays tech in medical, no first class travel, playing for little money all while wearing chucks. to win 11 titles with 8 in a row is insane, idc what era it is. Russell should have been the logo.

If anyone could shutdown Chamberlain when he was averaging 50 a game he is top 10 all time. The only centers better than Russell are Kareem, Shaq and Chamberlain only because of his scoring ability. Bill Russell played outstanding defense and was one of the greatest rebounders of all time. He only averaged less than 20 rebounds in 3 out of 13 total seasons.
