    This guy is such a good interviewer. When Kobe said he didn't take vacations, he asked "why not"? That's right but I've always said that in order to be good at anything, you not only have to practice but ask questions, research, read, the whole nine yards! People are jealous of guys like MJ, Magic, Bird and Kobe but they don't see them when they're putting the work in! Coming to practice early and staying late!

    If you can take just one lesson from this; when he talked about the air balls and he said get over yourself it’s not about you. Rather he analyzed on why! That’s wisdom beyond his years!! Why? And he realized he wasn’t strong enough and fixed the problem. You can apply that to every situation in life! Amazing!!!!

    • @magnafire1
      @magnafire1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      But he could have just been having a bad game and it didn't have anything to do with his legs lol. May be it was his mentality. Of course Kobe probably knows best, but he could have misdiagnosed the cause to his air balls that day, but getting his legs stronger couldn't have been a bad idea.

    • @michaelmurray8416
      @michaelmurray8416 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      magnafire1 True, but I can relate to having a bad performance due to being out of shape vs being in shape. Regardless, we should always ask the question; “why”, own it, take responsibility and work towards improvement...

    • @magnafire1
      @magnafire1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@michaelmurray8416 I personally don't think it was his legs? If he had that many air balls and has not had a game like that in previous seasons why believe your legs are too weak. Then again I am not Kobe and he would know better. I would say he was just in a funk that day and was too hard on himself. Tony Gwynn has talked about his batting slumps and said he simply had to get back to doing the things he was doing when he wasn't in a slump from mechanics to mentality. Forgetting his failures and remembering his success basically. Not trying to discredit what you said, but I think it is common sense to try and fix what has gone wrong. Whether it was Kobe's legs or not, no one may ever know. May be he didn't eat his wheaties. Lol or going through something. What I like is that he realized it was not about him.

    • @michaelmurray8416
      @michaelmurray8416 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      magnafire1 ya, this really resonated with me because it reminded me of a lesson my youth baseball coach taught me when I was a kid. I was struggling at the plate and I would blame the bat and switch bats. My coach asked me, “who missed the ball, you or the bat?” I answered him, me. He then told me that I was the that needed to hit the ball. For some reason this worked. I took responsibility for striking out, and for some reason this mental switch caused me to own up. I don’t know how but I began hitting the ball better than ever after that. Something so simple changed the way I do things. Taking ownership is powerful...

      magnafire1 it was his legs, he even said it. high school games happen happen once a week and your opponents are high schoolers whereas in the nba its back to back to back games vs pros and stronger players. do that for 82 games and then playoffs comes and we all know people on the playoffs turn beastmode so i get kobe on this one
