I got pro player momo (ex-bad news bears) and 9 low rank players into a server, and tried to figure out which one was the pro, and which ones were the lows. with a couple of higher rank players to make it more challenging.

there was some dispute as to whether or not getting them to do that test was cheating
note: I mostly tried to get silvers/novas, but i figured a few high rank players as red herrings would make it harder.
other note: there's nothing wrong with using an AWP on T side, I just think the CT AWP is kind of a crutch that prevents you from improving at the game. at high levels it's almost a completely different experience because your opponents actually use utility that makes your job hard. at low levels you just stand still and click on them when they run into your angle (and i've heard a ton of high level players say the same).

I don't think even half the player in this lobby were real silvers
i know several of them were silver before the rank reset (which happened like the day before i did this) and i said "close enough"

Get them to crouch peek and see which ones crab walk out and which actually crouch into the peek.
Legit the most anurisim inducing thing to see as someone slowly rounds the corner with an awp pre-scoped in and shoots you because your brain is still trying to comprehend how anyone thinks that should work. And yet it works on me while I look on dumbfounded 🤯
Its because the awp is a one shot kill while your rifle takes four shots unless to the head, which youre probably not gonna hit because youre not a pro.
@@yunwoo6878 Good point, but first this is usually into an awping angle, I have my crosshair on the angle and only have to click any point in almost a full second. I haven't timed it but it's long enough for me to say "What the hell is..." and then I'm dead. So if you're going to dry peek an angle with an awp, it's much better to do a crouch peek (think xantares peek but you crouch at the end of it)
you could get players from silver to pro and ask them to do different challenges where they have to try their best (bhopping, difficult jumps, aimbots, 1vX clutches and so on) and then try to guess who’s who. It’s has been done in rocket league very well.
fun fact: i used the troll crosshair the whole game which is why i scouted mostly

this might be more interesting. then you could see if 5 or 6 ranks are really that different. the silvers should be S5&6 and then master guardian. it might also be interesting if they would not try to hide it. does it really make such a difference?

I agree on awping at low levels. As long as you're hitting all (or at least most of) the shots an awper can be pretty invincible. Even if you get flashed off or baited into a shot, there's little risk of dying or even being compromised.
The problem is, most people in lower ranks just lack the mechanics to hs the awper when they have the advantage. You'd do the perfect jiggle, flash or peek but end up hitting 3 body shots and getting killed before the awper actually dies. Which sucks.
low levels? In pugs in general, until like the 3k elo mark.

Just a random concept idea for future videos would be if you were able to have the players not use skins during these “guess the pro” videos. I’ve climbed the ladder from S3 (pre rank reset) to currently being MG2 and I’ve noticed that silver players all use battle scarred cheap knives like a Navaja while the higher elo you go you notice more cosmetic investments as noted in the video by the fact the pro is using a BTFK Autotronic while most of the other players barely have gun skins nevermind knife and the hand wraps. It was a dead giveaway for me before the game even started, still a great video but I think no cosmetics adds to the challenge
yeah that's a good point, though some silver players do invest it's for sure not common at all.

I feel like this is the top 1% of silvers, normally they are way worse than the ones in the video.
i know its pretty common of a display name but i figured saul was silver because i ran into him on matchmaking a few times this week

That Saul guy is epitome of cs go (not faceit players) - everyone thinks that they can play awp
I think his skins kinda gave it away.. sure there are silvers with sick skins but his inv actually was insane. new meta: equip low statrack skins / cheap ones before joining

As far as I remember, I have not seen an M4A4 Howl in my competitive games. I think I saw AK-47 Gold Arabesque 2 times.

scary stuf, id rather play with mg's as a gold nova than silvers, there are no coms and the enemys always have at least that one guy who is way too good for his rank
All of them play too good for a silver in my opinion, they look like gold nova/master guardian players to me. But perhaps times have changed... The only thing that remains are smurfs in every single match :D
Nope. This is like mid upper nova. Before I left silver my randoms would have the worst possible aim a human could produce and have 0 comms.

I watched the video and then immediately rewatched it, now knowing the results. It's so obvious on the second watch. Even when voo is not in the pro's POV he gets so many HS kills. There's just too much giveaway. + skins but I don't pay attention to skins, I don't have any so it's only after reading the comments that I paid attention to it.
voo, cool stuff man. I feel the video could use a bit more content at the end, maybe rewatching some key moments with momo explaining what he was trying to do to disguise his skills.
that example of a pro pretending to be a silver is a better example of someones very first time on cs after coming from WZ

What exactly was momo doing when you tested him that was a dead giveaway?
Accurately grouping the shots. He was ordered to have one and only one shot stray from where he was aiming due to the movement inaccuracy between strafes, which he could not manage due to the powerful muscle memory. Meanwhile, the other guy struggled to group his shots at all.
fluidity in the movement (low/no downtime), confidence, obvious struggle to actually get a bullet to miss.
generally super experienced players when they try to "accidentally" miss in that scenario they just can't get their brain to do it until they do it an insanely exaggerated way that looks super intentional. less experienced players just have to go 4-5 times and they'll naturally shoot before the counter strafe. that's actually why n0thing recommended it in the video he mentioned it in, and i do tell people it's a solid way to practice your movement. try to do that type of practice and get as quick as possible.

Once you're good its hard to be bad due to the habits you got (unless u change ur sensivity to very high and stuff like that)

second I saw skins it was obvious. Bad players have a lot of good skins, but I only see a top tier like once every 50-100 games in silver/gold. pros on the other hand always have them

This was kinda dumb test, but the point was that for skilled players some mechanics are so deepy rooted in their lizard brains its very hard or uncomfortable to do them wrong way. Like you can try to run around a map looking at the ground instead of head level and see how weird it feels.

Shit, am I bad because I still use the UMP? Just feels better to me at midrange than any other SMG.
hahaha it's just a quick way to try to weed out people. I would suggest not using the UMP though, because it's actually not a good long range gun anymore, the mp7 is FAR better. I think the only place I really recommend using the UMP is tetris on nuke because you're close enough to get the 95dmg headshot or w/e it does. it just has terrible accuracy and a huge dropoff in dmg
It does less damage though. It got nerfed so that at any sort of range it does very little damage
ump45 has the highest dmg in close-mid range.

@@vooCSGO ofc mp7 is better, it's much more expensive tho. If you choose between Mac 10 and ump it's pretty 50/50 with Mac 10 being superior close range and ump mid range

I'm 36 Years old , and Covid Lockdown got me addicted to CS. I've spent around 1500 USD on Hardware for bettering in CSGO.
At this age ,Do I Have any chance of becoming a PRO? Considering the fact that the reaction time is proportional to age. If no , I would consider quiting csgo and save some money

Most pros have 7000-15000 hours ingame, talent only shows after a couple thousand hours in. The average reaction time for pros is bellow 250ms. In csgo you spend most of the time lining up shots not actually reacting but 250ms is kind of an upper limit. If you really want to and you spend the time there is no reason you shouldnt become pro. you could get somewhere around "2600hours" a year (8hours x day for 325=2600 , and 40day vacation a year". I believe if you do this you will become pro in 4-6 years time. It is more about quality of hours and not the number but generally this is the amount of time it will take to build muscle memory. I am global with 5100hours in game for reference.
