(for example, a player I know from chicago requested we didn't play league matches on chicago because almost all of them gave him >100 ping). it was used a solid amount, but it's kind of a cyclical thing. the afterplant control problem is probably why envyus and virtus pro ran strats without a top conn smoke, so they would have enough control of the map to hold the afterplant well. i think eventually once people solved it, everyone moved on. like 1- confused by new strat 2- solve it (either fight early from stairs + from ticket, or just play retake, both worked depending on scenario) 3- Ts try to solve that by not throwing top conn smoke and having a lurker to deal with those players 4- CTs solve the no top conn smoke variation 5- people move on/find new strats [optional] 6- people forget about the strat 7- someone finds it again 8- confused by new strat

this only works on NA/EU pugs cuz apparently their understanding of the game is so low. Any ct with a brain will know to HE stack the bomb planter or kill him with a1 spam. Better yet just throw your own 1-way smoke against the T smoke wall to get free kills... This is why it won't work today...ppl got better...

Austin i'd call semi-pro, but cactus and frequency are both ~3.5k elo i believe (and prophet is ex-pro), so it just seemed like it was an easier way to get the point across without having to go into the minutia. It's more than just a faceit 10 pug since everyone is experienced competitively and well above 2k elo. I didn't think it was a huge misrepresentation for the majority of the audience to understand easily without a 30 second description haha
I learned csgo on NA mm. You always hear that eu mm is better. (Better team play, better comms, better players...) After moving abroad and now playing on eu servers, (from silver - gold nova on my alt to master guardian - Supreme on my main) I can without a doubt say that eu players are pathetically bad at the game on average. Terrible aim, positioning, game sense, utility usage, etc. Comms don't exist unless they're Russian teammates that are screaming at everyone. All in all they're kind of brain dead. I have better games playing on NA servers with 130 ping.
