- We are a fantasy based progressive power metal band releasing our new album Spring 2022! In this series we are reacting to Ghost, a band that we are not familiar with at all! Hilarity ensues as we try to make sense of why we missed out on Ghost's rise to fame and success!

If no one mentioned this before, this song was written for the movie Halloween Kills, a alternate version of it plays in the credits and the song itself is an homage to the saga in general.
Btw, if you love this stylistic direction of ghost, you shoudl definitely check out a live video of Kaisarion, its a still unreleased song of theirs which has become their new opener!

Love that you guys are checking out so much Ghost. They are growing so fast and it's not for no reason! It's also cool how music can just immediately change your mood and make you feel better!

I love this. For context, this song was written for the Halloween Kills movie. So it's from the point of view of Michael. "Under a headstone, Sister, I'm dying to see you." (He wants them dead) He's out for the hunt.

In fact, this song was already in production when the movie makers contact Tobias and he changed some things to fit the movie
@@alasdair_10 Nope, Tobias said in an interview (955KLOS interview) that he only had the title of the song (that could work for the movie) but it was not written yet.
Tobias got the name after learning what Harvest Moon was from Neil Young. Hunters Moon is the next lunar cycle and close to Halloween. Then he was approached about writing a song for the new movie. He told them he had one already (although he admitted he didn’t have the song, just the title). A variation of this song is used when credits roll.
Regarding uncommon timing: The main lead riff thingy (after he sings "It's a hunter's moon") has an extra measure or whatever you wanna call it. It's 9 instead of 8.

If you like this middle part please reach to the song Zenith by Ghost. It’s one of my all time favorites and most underrated ghost song. I think it’s in my top 5 ghost songs

Awesome to see that you're doing a bunch of Ghost songs. I'd love to see your reaction to some of their older stuff, like Year Zero, Ritual, He Is... They tend to be more heavy/evil I guess lol, while the new stuff is generally more poppy and cheerful, tongue in cheek. I love most of their songs but the album Meliora is my favorite - very intricate, melodic, hard/occulty rock (always difficult to categorize them). I'm sure some of it will surprise you, Ghost has been a lot darker
I heard a few other songs from meliora. Loved from the pinnacle to the pit!
The Beatles meets Castlevania is probably the most interesting way I've ever heard Ghost described. I like it. lol

Masters of modes
After 20 seconds "this is going to be one of my favorite songs". But then the songs changes like 5 more times. You can't predict a Ghost song, but it is awesome.

I think this is one of their Top 6 songs. Right after Square Hammer, Rats, Year Zero, Cirice and Mary on a Cross. (Edited in the last minute since i noticed i just wrote down 5 songs so Top 5 did not make sense anymore) :)

Please listen to “Body and Blood”, it’s one of their funnier songs. I kinda chuckle every time I hear it because the way Papa says feet. Also “Mary On A Cross” has same sort of humor too. If you go to a live show, you’ll see that Tobias has a very good sense of humor. He speaks like Dracula, so you’re dead on with your Transylvania reference.
