His win against Barao was right up there with Conor's win over Alvarez.
That fight against Barao was one of the most beautiful piece of striking I've ever witnessed. The way he was mixing it up, cutting angles, he truly embodied Ali's quote, "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee"

It's more impressive imo. Barao was on like a 30 fight win streak and running through everyone he faced. Then TJ just demolished him, twice, and he never was the same fighter after that 1st one

He has the most beautiful style in all of MMA. Always looking for angles to unload a barrage of strikes while not getting hit in the pocket. Unbelievable aggression. I hate that he took EPO, because he was by far my favorite fighter.
Every fighter in the UFC is taking epo, peptides, testosterone and everything else so it doesn't matter
He only took it once at flyweight, so in my eyes he's still one of the best bantamweights ever
Despite TJ's claim of only using EPO once, his prior use of EPO likely shortened Cody's career. He wasn't the same after those KO losses. EPO is difficult to test for due to high probability of false negatives, especially in older samples. That's part of why Lance got away with it for so long.

The first fight, Herb stopped the fight about 12 punches too late! Dude wasnt defending at all, he was just getting pieced up.
@Emerald Triangle Even taking that into account Emerald, he was obv a gonner and only a pistol could have given him even half a chance leading up to and by the time Herb called it a day. I hadnt noticed it was Cody as I just sat down and was watching the punches and Herb as opposed to who the victim was. TJ whupped his ass every time they lined up.

Arguably the best shooter upper in all of mma. His style is just insane, the way he uses that belt on his arm inside the pocket really blows my mind. It's even said that when he kicked Cody in the head he injected Cody's face with steroids. Complete fighter ladies and gentlemen.

Even with the EPO use (which he should've been punished way harsher by the UFC), you can't deny his skills and technique. I'd love to see him vs Petr Yan but he's got a tough task against Aljamain to get past. UFC 280 is so stacked cant wait!

Tj is my favorite fighter by far! He got me into the UFC, the first ppv I bought was him vs Barao the first fight, changed my life. Honestly hurts my soul at the amount of hate and disrespect he gets because of the epo. At least he admitted to it and explained why he did it. Unlike other fighters who have poped for anabolic steroids, make a bs excuse, get a slap on the wrist and are still loved and considered some of the best fighters.. The UFC fanbase is a fucking joke.
Exactly. I’ve been saying the sane thing for years now. Chael Sonnen popped many times and cheated many times but everybody loves him anyway. Same with Silva. That just proves that fans don’t really care about fighters using PEDs. They just pick on tj because he’s not a fan favorite and use the epo as an excuse to have him as a scapegoat.
