    Great presentation!!! I’m a direct descendant of the “Welch” family of Essex County, Virginia, which is South Bank of the Rappahannock River. They were Black English immigrants who came to Virginia in the year 1700 with the French Huguenots fleeing from Catholic persecution. On the Census Records from the 1800s, we were documented under “All others free” & “Free Colored Persons”! We never experienced slavery. My Great Grandfather’s surname is “Welch” but my surname is “Anderson” because my Great grandparents and Grandparents never married. So it went from “Welch” to “Hubbard” then “Anderson”. “Anderson” is my grandmother‘s maiden name and “Hubbard” is my great grandmother‘s maiden name. Our European ancestry is deep. Keep up the good work.

    I can’t help but realize the only reason we use the term black is because Europeans called us black/negro and actively promote the terminology. There are family names that use it but using it as an umbrella term is just plain confusing because there are many groups who can claim “black” based on dark skin tone. Even old definitions of black make it even more confusing.

    I know utube is gonna delete this 'hate comment' but, I hope someone gets a chance to read it before they delete it. We were the FIRST Europeans from Africa, and were called the Grimaldi people. We were in Europe from 40-70,000 years BEFORE the pales arrived and took over Europe! Queen Europa is where the name Europe derived from. We also were the FIRST Greeks! We were called the Pelasgians, and the city of Athens was named after a Black Empress by the name of Queen Athena. Notice they both changed the last letter of the name Europa to an (e) and the last letter of the name Athena to an (s).
    The name Scott derived from the name Scotland, which was ran by King James, who did not write the bible, but he was the King of Scotland!! We introduced royalty, loyalty, fashion, Kingsman ship and Queensland ship to Scotland!
    Princess Sophie Charlotte was born in 1744, and she was the second Black Queen of England. Philippa of Hainault was the FIRST Black Queen of England. The city of Charlotte is named after Queen Charlotte, and Mcklenburg county is also named in her honor!!!
    *Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (Sophia Charlotte; 19 May 1744 to 17 November 1818) was Queen of Great Britain and Ireland, as the wife of King George III. OURstory DID NOT begin with slavery. We once ruled the world when it was an ALL BLACK Universe! Remember, history is his-STORY aka his-LIE. utube you can erase this 'hate comment' now!

    I'm not camp bangin because I believe israelite camps are needed, but why none of them ever do a deep breakdown about this?
    I always noticed different features in us from the Africans. I'm not trying to sound ignorant or anything but the blacks ( no matter how dark skinned) with the European last names usually in the caribbean have small mouths and when I look at the old painting you post up here of the ancient Europeans they all have a bit of a long nose bridge and small lips. They don't have wide mouths and the funny thing is ppl always say Jamaicans have small mouths that is why they always look mad but it's just their mouth are not wide. ( not downing Africans ) then the israelites that came from Africa either have a wide nose and medium lips or wide lips and small nose. Just look u will see they never have both wide nose and wide mouths. ( I'm not saying that it's unattractive just something that you can notice)
    This channel open my eyes as to WHY "BLACK PPL" CANT COME TOGETHER AND WHY OUR AREAS HAVE VIOLENCE ..... it's because all of us are not israelites we are different tribes living amongst each other. It all make sense

    .The use of the term black to identify the inhabitants of Scotland and some in Ireland is not indicative necessarily of African ancestry.
    Following the destruction of the Spanish armada in 1588, the remaining Spanish naval vessels. In an attempt to get home sailed, North and tried to go around the British isles and back south to Spain. Many of those ships were wrecked off the coast of Scotland and Ireland. Many of those shipwrecked sailors and soldiers were killed. Some managed to survive and intermarry with the local population. Now those soldiers and sailors being Spanish and darker skinned, then the Scots and Irish that they bred with produce offspring that were much darker than the native population. Often, when this happened, those children were called black. That's where the term 'Black Irish' comes from. the use of the term. Black does not necessarily denote African ancestry for these Scottish and Irish people. I think this is a distinction that needs to be made in order to preserve historical accuracy.

    • @blackishistory
      @blackishistory  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @Aceman52 That is a myth sir, both historical and multiple genetic studies have come to the conclusion that the Spanish Armada origin for "Black Irish" men and women is nothing more than a myth, there is no evidence to back up that theory, which is why it is literally referred to as folklore.

      @@idratherbeaphilthanajustin9533 At the very end of the last video before this one, I showed a letter that was written to the British parliament at the time of King Charles I reign while Charles II was still just the prince of wales. In that letter it stated that there was a man who was trying to impersonate Charles ii and he was described as being a fair COMPLEXIONED man with fair hair and eyes, but the man was fair in complexion with a slight tan to his skin, as he was described in the letter. They were able to tell that he was NOT Charles II because, as the letter states, Charles II was of a BLACK COMPLEXION, with black hair and black eyebrows, so if it what you’re saying is true then the fair skinned tanned Caucasian should have been called black as well because he would have been considered “darker” than other normal Europeans with lighter complexions at least according to you. But in that letter, it makes it perfectly clear that there was a difference between Caucasians with slightly darker skin and someone who had actual BLACK skin complexion

    I never believed in the transatlantic slave trade. This was told to us to keep our minds in slavery. Our only culture is American. If we came from Africa we would have had memories and a culture to connect us. The Caribbeans have that legacy not Black Americans.

      even though there's overwhelming evidence of it? Black american origins can easily be traced to the trans atlantic slave trade. Your dna comes exactly from where the historical record indicates your negro african ancestors were enslaved (west africa). Even down to the specific tribes. If you didn't originate there, why is your dna identical?

      That's not true. The people across the Caribbean are the remnants of the original Baratanac's, Hibernia and French Hughgenots. Don't spread misinformation.
