    At what age we should introduce the concept of numbers to a child?

    • @allhart
      @allhart  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Typically children don't have a true understanding of what number symbols represent until after 3 or even 4 years old. But if it’s something simple like number cards then that could be introduced as early as 2.5 and up. For younger children around 18 months or so, you can begin with some basic 1 to 1 correspondence activities. Hope that helps ❤️

    How old would the child have to be most receptive to these math activities ?

  • @marikalaforge5982
    @marikalaforge5982 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’m curious to know what age frame do we present these activites? I’m new to Montessori and my biggest struggle is figuring out when is the best time to start the activities.

    • @allhart
      @allhart  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      These are activities that you would find in an early education Montessori classroom. Ages range from 3-6 years old and they’re all exposed to the same materials. Because Montessori is self led (meaning the child’s interests are what sets the tone for specific activities) it’s tough to say exactly what age to introduce certain activities as every child learns differently and develops differently. My son for example showed an interest in learning numbers and counting very early on, so by the age of 2 we were already working with a lot of these materials. Where as my daughter showed more of an interest in these activities by age 3, so that’s when we started. My suggestion would be to follow your child’s lead…you can always try working with your child on some of these activities and if they seem interested keep going. If they’re struggling then take a step back and perhaps review past math activities or introduce new ones at a later time. Hope that helps answer your question ❤️
