  • That brown build up on your flat iron is really easy to clean.
The sticky residue on your hot styling tools are build up from your heat protectant sprays and leave in treatments.
Being that I don’t use my straightener often, I use a three step process to maintain its cleanliness.
I begin by spraying one spray of rubbing alcohol onto a barely damp microfiber cloth to wipe away plates.
Be sure your tool is turned off, unplugged and not hot.
Then I immediately dry thoroughly with a dry cloth.
My main tip to frequent hot hair tool users is to immediately wipe off the plates with a barely damp cloth right before your tool has completely cooled off and has been unplugged.
Also remember to avoid getting alcohol or water onto or into your hot hair tool that’s outside of the plates you’re cleaning.
