- Picked up some AVID1 AV06 rims along with some new Kenda KR20A tires for the rear. Also snagged some Aodhan XT51 lug nuts. BIG THANKS to @TRUWHEELSAZ for the wheel and lug nut hookup! If you live in AZ and need wheels Bernard is your guy!

Wheels do look nice, and Id deffinetly get some spacers,make it poke out a little bit more.
Get a measuring tape and measure from the tire to the inside top of the fender, I'm pretty sure the fender isn't rolled you can feel it poking with your hand, to get your desired offset. You won't really know until you lower the car. With your tire spec, offset, and you don't plan on spending a lot of money I'd go with some lowering springs that will drop you 1" all around. The drop won't hurt the stock struts since it's a mild drop, but anything over 1" you're gonna have to get a camber kit for the rear, front maybe. You could also go coilovers, cheapest I've seen around are $500 some TEIN and Raceland Ultimo's (These are true coilovers and you're gonna have to replace the spring bucket with a toe arm).

I was wondering do you think going with the forged over the cast aluminum is really that big of a difference? Especially for someone that won’t be tracking the car?

Of course if I had some ridiculous track build where every ounce counted and I had to have the highest quality option and money was of no concern I’d pop for the best but that does not apply to the vast majority of us.

Idk my factory wheels are forged rays offered on the z. They hit a curb and bend the lip but they did not break or explode and the wheel and tire are still holding air and being driven on. Forged wheel got me home, these would have left me being towed and needing a new wheel. Still not a bad price for a beater wheel if you do break one though . Forged just take the abuse like a champ

@@leftright2 but if you want these wheels go for it. They look nice, I ended up going with them for my car as gram lights or volks aren’t quite in my budget yet. If you aren’t tracking your car or anything these will do just fine for dailying around town. I’m going to most likely sell my avid1s next year though for the gram lights 57dr as they are a bit stronger and will handle a bit more abuse in the long run. And the gram lights just look more refined, rounded , concave and sharper than the avid1s. the gram lights are only about 6-700 more than the avid 1s so they arent completely out of everyone’s budget like the real volk te37s , where they are almost 4K for the set. But gram lights and volk are both own by rays, so gram lights 57dr are just baby te37s at half the cost lol, the 57dr are rotory forged over the fully forged te37s which is why they are half the cost of volks. But both are still better than the just plain cast of the avid 1s if your tracking or drifting, The 57dr are a happy middle. But go with avid1s, shouldnt hurt if your not doing anything crazy, they aren’t crazy expensive and look good if your just going for look.

What makes a wheel poke more. +20 or +10
Less offset the further it sticks out. +10 sticks out further then +20. That is why I got the +18's over the +24's.

Do you think 18x9.5 +24 offset wheels with 255x35R18 tires would fit good on my stock oem 03 350z? Or would there be scrubbing?
They would fit. I would want spacers with that setup though cause the wheel will be sunk in from the wheel well quite a bit.

Zero rubbing issues and I am lowered on ISR coilovers now. Youd have to be slammed to get them to rub.

I didn't know you could fit 18x9.5 on a 235 wheel! I got 18x8.5 on mine. I might need to switch to 9.5 lol. please update me asap if that is what you're running
Yes thats what I am running. 235 up front currently and a 245 out back.

Great question. No clue. I wasn’t really concerned about weight when I purchased them and more aesthetics. If your weight concerned I would recommend some Rays TE 37’s or gram lights

If your car is a show piece and money doesn’t matter go with gram lights. If it’s a high mileage have fun semi beater like mine go with the avid1’s 👍🏼
@@therealjessescheel yea but it does make a difference. I have the factory forged rays and biffed a curb pretty good. They took the damage and bent the lip but the wheel didn’t crack or explode like a rep wheel would have and it is still holding air and being driven on that way. All I need to do is pull the lip back out and it’ll be good to beat in even more. Rays and big brand In general are built pretty good. And the gram lights are rotory forged over straight cast so they’ll still take more abuse. It sucks that’s it’s 2021 almost 22 and forged wheels still cost what they do. But I ended up going with the avid 1s though solely for the price. Probably going to sell them next year and get the gram lights though. They’ll take the track and abuse much more in the long run. They always say buy once and buy right, buy cheap and buy twice

nice vid bro, im looking to get a set of these for my 350z, couple of questions i have,
1. would 10.5 width wheel on all the way round the car be ok? or do i go slightly thinner on the fronts maybe 9.5?
2. how heavy are these wheels? are they lighter than the stock wheels on the 350z, my stock wheels are the original ray forged ones,
The size im looking at to buy is 18X10.5 with 22 offset

As far as size goes you can do a 10.5 all around but it’s just going to add weight and be overkill in my opinion. Depends on what tire size you want to run to.
I am not sure of the weight. I would venture to guess the stock rays are lighter though.
As far as offset goes I think the closer you can get to +15 or +10 the better. You may need to roll fenders at +10 though depending on how low you are.
As a z owner 9.5 + 18 is pretty good. They won’t sit completely flush like a+ 12 will though
