Played this game 4 times now (all at 2p). It’s definitely one of my favorite games, theme plays a big role. You’re never gunna get $200+ in your first game, it’s a game that you learn and discover new strategies with each game. There’s so many choices and combinations in the game. I tend to lean into my bosses strength and use my starting jobs to give me a direction. There’s almost a kind of push your luck aspect with the raids because sometimes the raids really hurt you and sometimes the consequences aren’t that bad even negatively impacting your opponents. Only complaint is the teach just cause there are so many options on your turn.
Got my KS copy the other week and must say the component quality and the design is top notch. Ysterday I got to play it for the first time and it was a really good experience. Great work Redzen!
This game looks awesome! I've cooled on area control over the last couple years but the theme, art, and mechanics in this game all look really fun. I'm just not sure how often this would get to the table. Really big complicated games, I've started to realize, might not be worth it to me as much as I once thought. Still though, that doesn't seem to be stopping me from picking them up from time to time. Some games are the chef's kiss, and for the moonshine and mobsters theme, this one looks like it is a perfect dish... a dish best served cold... as in cold-blooded... as in murder! Thanks guys! Really enjoyed this playthrough!
Love the video guys, just please pay attention to not talking over your guest. There were quite a few moments where Arnau was trying to explain something and you guys just cut him off. Otherwise solid video.
My group really enjoys this game as we feel its a great mix between Arnak/Dune with the light deckbuilding and worker placement and Scythe / Brass with the resource management, area majority and upgrading. Plus the theme is great and different then the usual stuff we have in our collection. I am pumped about the expansion (my guess is more factions which never hurts) and hope the DT crew will do a full review now that they played the game.
Not only is it really rude when Tom is constantly singing and whistling and humming over people as they're trying to take their turns, but it is also really disruptive from the perspective of just trying to watch this video. Maybe I'm the only viewer who thinks this and that's ok, you're free to ignore my comment, but from a content perspective it's really counterproductive.
Crazy as it sounds but I was trying to make a game exactly like this. But I've never made a game before so it didn't go anywhere. And then boom I saw this. Was late to backing so I missed out. Looking to try to get my hands on it.
I like the game. It does have some flaws…the storage solution is not great of you got all the extras and the fact that they made the cards look like newspaper headlines means that the regular card text is way too small. However given that I still liked it.
BGG has an article how to fit everything in. Try putting the starter money in the individual player trays. That will allow you to fit the acrylic money all in the trays!
Still sort of mystified how players regularly score 300+ points in this game. My games go much like Tom's did. Make a bunch of money then watch it be taken away.
This game really needs a better reference sheet. With so many order actions, the reference sheet should include a bullet point summary of what is done for each. Would precent a lot of rulebook flicking.
The raids seem so massively random and can rui your game, shame cos the rest looks great but that would not be fun to me, losing so much on a random card flip
Its actually an awesome thematic touch becuase thats EXACTLY what its likes to live a criminal lifestyle. Constantly starting over from scratch @@jimbo6092
Many rules ignored in this playthrough. There is a difference between hit and kill. Raid track advances by the number of thugs in the underworld when another is added to name two.

I love the pace of the turns. The theme is a very strong magnet. Looks like a good amount of player interaction too.

I can't wait for the review of this game
"We're going to have word later..."
Chris, I don't think you understand how threats are supposed to work 😆

Will we have a dice tower full review and discussion?
This looks like a much better game than the CMON Godfather game.
It is. Absolutely 😊
They are honestly very different games. Just similar theme
Well it looks like Tom had fun playing it ^_^

There will be a reprint campaign this summer so you can get a copy then.
@@_The_Rake Yes! Stoked on this!
This game makes me feel all sorts of stuff … yum yum
Raids should have moved Eliot Ness marker up a lot more?

How you build the start deck ?
They look to be faction specific.
This looks cool, but complicated.
The amount of randomness due to raid and news cards is absolutely huge. Otherwise seems like a neat blended whiskey.

I figure if we're playing with the publisher, everything we did was right. :)
I wish I backed this 🥲
You can late pledge now with the new expansion Bloody Business.
