I have the same problem with my Mokka-E. My Mokka-E will constantly pull to the left when lane assist is turned on.
Up to 100 km/h it workes close to perfect, above that you have a 50/50 chance that it will either work or kill you.

Nice looking car and with colour! The e-C4 also had a nice colour, don’t like 50 shades of grey!

I don't know, the e- C4's colors are pretty basic, and they haven't done the orange package for the bumpers, only grey, black blue and red, it looks pretty cheap, but Mokka, that looks alot more expensive.

Thankyou from the UK Bjorn! Not one person has reviewed this car on motorway use,and I have just purchased the Ultimate version of the Vauxhall Mokka E. Has confirmed where I have planned to charge as I drive through the UK. Thanks again 👍

I like this format that you just tested so please more of it. I would also find it interesting to see you test the recoperation efficiancy. I can imagin going up on a sloped road and back again and read out the total consumed energy on your phone (via bluetooth).

That disengage on innaction is seriously flawed! That person that fell asleep in his Tesla (with alcohol in his blood) would be likely dead now if in one of these. Not the best way to avoid a prosecution and driving ban!

In my almost perfectly flat country, we can have something that we call "false flat" - where the road seems to be perfectly level but is not. Even when riding your bicycle you really feel that in the Wh/km you have to work yourself "uphill".

Checking your Mokka-e videos to prep a little bit for the arrival of the Astra-e. Although I am more pumped for the Astra Sports Tourer Electric, but if my expectations are correct, both electric Astras should match (or surpass a little bit) the powertrain of the Mokka-e. We shall see soon - I hope :D

Can you do a comparison between EVs in the same price and utility range? For instance, I would love to see a video going in-depth for hatchbacks under 30k€, between 30k€ and 40k€ etc. Would be great if this is done once a year(ideally at the start of the year) so people would know the available options for EVs and your thoughts on these options.
Your input holds some value in these decision because you(and car journalists in general) have driven and spent a lot of time in most EVs out there unlike most people.
Lately I see that you are commenting against cars on the same platform which is ok but there should also be a video where you also compare the platform themselves which would probably be technical, long and boring. To avoid this, I would include another comparison with relevant cars in the same -+10k€ ballpark after the 'same platform' one. For instance, I think this car can be compared to the refreshed Kona since both are within 10k€ of each other when comparing top spec models. id.3 would also be a valid comparison. You don't have to pick all variations just the closest ones e.g. 58kWh id.3, and comment on advantages and disadvantages of current car versus the other options(price difference, range, tech etc.).

It feels like some GM influence is still present! The D driving mode especially. I’m with you on using the accelerator pedal with feathering to control the amount of regen, rather than nerfing it. Learned that in my Ampera. That blended more regen to start with when applying brakes and transitioning to physical asa speed drops or pedal pressure increased. The only time that is not perfect is when a wheel locks up over a pothole or something during braking and the regen is switched off entirely which means you have to push more to compensate (Ampera behaviour). That would be a good test if you can find a safe but slippery edge of the road place to test with mud or loose rubble which would invoke anti-lock under braking.

I prefer a paddle on the stearing whell and also the brake pedal for regen. I made a study for the most efficient way to regen.
Like a bus/truck with retarder/intarder. I want to coast with the right pedal especially in motorway.

Still too low for high speed range. A good car has to have 240 km only for the 10-80% run at 120kmh, and a nice charging curve.

  • @st4849

Efficiency is nowhere near the Kona/e-Niro figures and those are 2018 technology. 3 years later a smaller car consumes 22+ kWh @ 120km/h? Yesterday in the e-Niro I did 21kWh @ 135-140km/h in horrible rain/wind/15'C and with 3 ppl in the car. What will I replace the e-Niro with I have no idea... Not seeing much better efficiency coming from any manufacturer after 3 years of development since the e-Niro.

I really like it on my Hyundai Kona. It can't tell if the road is slanted to one side and sometimes feels like it's pulling, but if you let go of the wheel it corrects itself, then you grab it again and it doesn't feel like it has an alignment prob. It sometimes jerks the wheel at exit ramps tho, so always have hands on wheel when passing those. You just have to know the tricks to manage its quirks.
