Aaah how liberating it is to get well into one's thirties and the ' I no longer care what other people think is cool, I can embrace what I actually like' phase! I've even stopped turning my music down at the traffic lights... ha ha ha
Love watching your videos Kate! You have such a positive vibe about zero waste and I love watching your videos! Wish I lived in England so I could go to the Zero Waste Talk! I am trying to transition to zero waste while in college and you have given be really inspiring ideas and motivation to keep going!
I am going to the Bea Johnson talk in London on Sunday, very excited :D Great to hear you are gonna interview her! I have a few questions you could maybe ask her.
1) What are her views on eating local produce vs eating a vegan diet? (because in the winter in the UK, and a lot of other places, it is impossible to do both)
2) Sometimes I get this feeling (not saying that it is, or isn't, justified though) that even if I would perfect the zero-waste, zero-plastic, zero-palm oil lifestyle, and live as sustainably as is possible, simply by living in a massive urban city such as London I am contributing to mass-consumption, air-pollution, fossil fueled electricity etc. So I guess my question would be what Bea's response to that is? What are her views on urban dwelling vs countryside living?
Will you upload your interview with her anywhere?

I can't come to the Meetup but have you considered vlogging it so everyone can get the information from it also?? I would love that. I'm still working towards zero waste. Small changes are helping and it's getting easier as time goes on.

I have just stumbled upon your channel and I've been watching so much of your videos! Your lifestyle is so inspiring and I feel like my values regarding our footprint upon the environment are pretty similar to yours. I also feel like it is refreshing to see someone with this values and who is not vegan. I don't eat a lot of meat but I don't want to make the vegan or vegetarian jump because I feel like my body asks for meat from time to time and I want to listen to it. Anyway your videos are amazing even if sometimes I can't use your brands recommendations since I live in France. You're so funny as well!
I am also happy I found Kate. In the sustainability space there's so much pressure to become vegan and everyone seems to be. But it's not the best option for everyone. I, for example, am already underweight and going all vegan would just make me even more skinny and I am also a small eater and you have to eat a lot more to get the same amount of certain nutrients and calories.

I find that the Veja shoes are very thin so I get cold at night in the summer and also very ill supported.
I know this is such a strange question but what do you use to scrub your toilet? All the scrubbers I can find are plastic and I just feel bad using them

You need to feel bad buying them, not using them! If you already own a perfectly usable plastic toilet brush, you shouldn't go buy a plastic-free toilet brush. That said, in case you really need it, the only company I know that have one is Life Without Plastic.
