We needed someone to drive our truck for wine harvest, we found Ryder.

That's an awesome first car to drive.
Everything he drives after this will be easier, more automated, more computerized, but he'll understand the fundamentals of how they operate far better than most everyone else driving them.
He will have some idea what is wrong if they don't work right where others will just run them into the ground or spend a fortune getting scammed.
He will remember what new metaphorical interfaces have taken the place of where others will be utterly confounded should they ever confront a vehicle from before their own birthdate.

Learning to drive in a save environment, without putting anyone but yourself in danger is already a great way to start early. Doing this in an old car like this is even better, when he can drive this he can drive everything else, well maybe except for stick shift.

We're thinking about starting a vineyard from scratch at the other end of the Gorge, no more than 20 acres, but maybe 5 at a time, until we get the hang of it. We've watched your 15 videos on that, and we'd love to visit Mosier to pick your brains about the process. Are you open to a visit?!
