Im a self taught left handed crocheter and this video was so helpful and easy to follow. It actually threw me off not needing to flip the video in my brain like I usually need to when I watch video how to's
Thanks very much for this video. It's very clear and easy to follow. Other crocheters have told me just to use a mirror to follow along as they crochet. You go step by step and are very methodical. Greatly appreciated!
Lovely tutorial, easy to understand and follow along. I’m typically a quilter, not a crocheter but last winter a local library held a crochetathon, making granny squares and turning them into Afghans. I was super inspired, and with your help I should be able to participate next time this event happens. Happy crocheting and looking forward to more tutorials 😊👍🧶🪡
I was once told if a right handed person is teaching a left handed person, sit across from one another, to “mirror “ each other. (From a lefty living in a righty world 😉)
wow!! google lead me to your page. My beloved grandmother taught me how to crochet by siting in front of her being she was right handed and I am left hand such as you. Thanks for refreshing my memory and reliving memories as well. Certain i'm ready to level up and make my Boho Cardigan :)
That’s a great way of doing it, however I was used to doing the ‘connect to the third chain up’ so I was always cutting the yarn and joining it to the new one
THank you so much for his video. I have tried and tried to make a granny square but it has never turned out to be a square until now. This is so helpful for a leftie like me😊🧶
Great question! Generally when that happens it's because the stitches are tight and unable to relax flat. I would try using a crochet hook that is 2 sizes larger than what you are currently using and see how that works up. This is a trick people use when they have a tight stitch tension. You might also try adding an additional chain in each corner or maybe adding a stitch to each group. Tinker with it. You'll get it. 🤗🧶💖
This is my second left handed granny square tutorial and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but mine keeps turning into a circle! I’m following it step by step, I even put it in .5 speed bc the video and your hand movement is a bit fast (that’s on me bc I’m a total beginner so it’s hard to keep up) and I still can’t get it to become a square. After the first two DC’s and the second chain of 2, that’s where my square corner turns into a circle and I’m trying to keep my tension loose but the ring becomes really small when I do the slip stitch. I’m using size 4 yarn with a 5mm hook (recommended size is a 5.5mm hook). Any idea of what I can do to fix this? I’m getting upset that I can’t figure this out, it looks so simple!! 😣
hmm, check to see where your chains are. Sometimes the shape does not show up distinctly for a couple rounds. Maybe trying to work past round 1 you will pick up your stride and things will look better. 😊❤️🧶

That sounds so cool! A crochetathon with granny squares. I might have to do something with that. 😄💖🧶
My 5yo is the only south paw in our family. I'm right handed and teaching her so thank you for this

Thanks for the vid it helped so much! Keep working ❤❤❤❤
i closed round 2 right in the middle prt of my work, is that okay?
Yes, that's ok using this technique. 😊
what happens if it doesn’t flatten in the beginning and it kinda curves into a cup? (if that makes sense)

@@NessiiBear did you figure it out because i’m having the same problem!
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong! I followed the instructions for round 1 but only ended up with 1 corner, not 4 like in the video 😢

Can you just keep going until it’s essentially a giant granny square blanket ? lol
