This is one of my favorite songs ever. I never thought anything could top Tarja's rendition, then Floor joined the band and added so much more energy to the ending. I got to hear her perform it in 2015 and it brought me to tears. And then you came along. The way you blended what both of them did best into a single cover was masterful. Seriously though, you have managed to combine the techniques and personalities of Tarja and of Floor, and yet made it your own, with your personality and expressive singing riding on top. I thought I had seen enough of these to expect a anything, but damn.. most of the video I was thinking "Oh that's interesting, she's channeling Tarja", and then 9:00 came around and all I could think was "WOAH". Bravo! Amazing performance. The control you have over your voice to keep such a beautiful controlled vibrato on a belt like that... I can't even begin to imagine. BRAVO.
This would qualify as a vocal ACHIEVEMENT!!!! Your gorgeous voice handles this very difficult song with both grace, and power. I always thought Tarja lost some of her annunciation due to her rather pronounced Finnish accent, still do to this day. However, you seem to be very aware of that and do a marvelous job of pronouncing every syllable clearly and cleanly. Even when you go into the later break in the song, you have such power and presence in your voice. Dare I say it.... You're almost TOO strong a vocalist for this song!!!! And YES!!!! You NAILED THAT LAST NOTE!!!! Floor Jansen herself would be, well......floored.... heheheheheheheh

Let me just say, that 1 month ago, i saw Nightwish Live, it was a blast!. Today is my name aniversary - this is the best birthday present ever (the fact that i just met you) . Instant Subscribe. Standing ovations. I have listened to your version a bunch of times. it is perfect in the sense that it combined Tarja & Floor's version - you will please all the fans , so i am expecting the Nightwish Army in 3,2,1... :). Just 2 small mentions. at first i felt it was too operatic in the first minutes. Twas too much vibrato, but i understood it was somehow a liason with the choir part. I always say, one of the best parts in this song, is at the end, after the vocal parts, where just the choir sings. Unfortunately it was fading away... it made me sad because otherwise it is a stellar performance. Well done!
First a fantastic Sonata Artica cover and now this. I used to be a massive Nightwish fan back in Tarja days, had all CD's and most DVD's. When i heard this, specially in the first bit it is just like Tarja used to sing it. And the middle your more powerfull voice just brings it up to the next level. Feelings are difficult to convey with words but you know when the hairs in your neck stand up and you just have this gutteral WHAT THE F, HELL YEAH!! feeling inside. Funny how Floor just doesn't do it for me, even though she is an amazing singer too. If Floor ever quits, not that i want her to, please be the one to give them a call :D

Just 2 small mentions. at first i felt it was too operatic in the first minutes. Twas too much vibrato, but i understood it was somehow a liason with the choir part. I always say, one of the best parts in this song, is at the end, after the vocal parts, where just the choir sings. Unfortunately it was fading away... it made me sad because otherwise it is a stellar performance. Well done!

First a fantastic Sonata Artica cover and now this. I used to be a massive Nightwish fan back in Tarja days, had all CD's and most DVD's. When i heard this, specially in the first bit it is just like Tarja used to sing it. And the middle your more powerfull voice just brings it up to the next level.
Feelings are difficult to convey with words but you know when the hairs in your neck stand up and you just have this gutteral WHAT THE F, HELL YEAH!! feeling inside.
Funny how Floor just doesn't do it for me, even though she is an amazing singer too. If Floor ever quits, not that i want her to, please be the one to give them a call :D
Just came from listening to the original of this song for the first time. This is just jaw droppingly and magnificently epic. The mix of vocal styles... just how... can classical singers sing anything then? I admit to knowing virtually nothing about the art.
