You may like or dislike Nightwish but this show is one of the most perfect performances I've ever seen. No mistakes, the sound and the engineering is amazing, Floor and everyone is perfectly focused and at their best.
Wacken 2013 is quite possibly one of, if not the best, live performances by any band ever. It was a magnum opus for Nightwish! We were all just absolutely blown away!

Floor had Floorgasm. After a year of watching other people reacting to this song, having Florgasms, crying, having goosebumps, vocal coaches telling me all the little details about it, opera singers reacting and headbanging and turning into metalheads, reading comments under every reaction video... I am lost of words. All i can say is THANK YOU FLOOR! ❤️
I have yet to see one reactor crying to this performance, which is what happens to me EVERY SINGLE time I hear Floor belting out at the end of GLS, I honestly don't understand how that is possible lol. Would you be so kind to recommend one of these reaction videos?

I'm in love with this woman. It's impossible to listen to her singing, or speaking with such a simpathy and naturality, and not to be mesmerized by her. In my opinion, one of the greatest female metal singers in history of rock.

I'm 65 years old finnish guy and I can assure you Floor, that no other singer has moved me so much. I have been watching this video and its reactions maybe 40 times so far and you always bring tears to my eyes. Thank you Floor for everything.

I am a 63 year old Texas man....and yes...everything is bigger in Texas, as I am 1.98 meters tall...and Nightwish's music helps me more than most could understand! I live in constant pain, and have difficulty sleeping because of it! I listen to Nightwish to help me relax and get to sleep most nights!

I get what you saying and she is very consistent but she worked so hard for this and I would hate for us to portray a vibe of it coming easy to her. A machine is mechanical, bland and programmed to do things in the same way. In that sense Floor is as far from a machine as you can get.

I have watched this video probably 100 times and tears well up in my eyes ... every .. single .. time. I feel honored to live at the same time as Nightwish.
Floor, I am 63 and have listened to so many bands and brilliant music throughout my days but Nightwish touch my soul in a way no other band has, you are amazing. I saw you guys for the first time in Vienna late 2022 and you blew me away. Tuomas is unreal, he writes so many 'perfect compositions' and you guys bring them to life. You though Floor have a voice and stage presence that brings tears to my eyes like no other performer ever has, you are a truly amazing artist and even more so (if that is possible🙂) such a beautiful person. Damn right. I am 45 and grew up loving Metallica, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Motorhead , AC/DC and Black Sabbath. I was lucky enough to see them all live, but as Tank the Tech has said, no band has ever.EVER. given me the emotions that Floor and Nightwish do. Simply incredible and wonderful. I am a 56 year young die hard Iron Maiden, and metal genre fan generally speaking. Believe me, never ever, have I cried to any song before listening to GLS 2013. And I still do. It was the biggest surprise of my life. Having Marko, Emppu, Tuomas, playing the song with such passion is an unbelievable feeling, but you singing and Jukka giving his all on the drums makes me feel like my soul was ripped off my body and taken to heaven.
Same as me, grew up in the 70's/ 80's heavy metal, and this young lady can melt my heart. Go wrestle a bear but yet Floor makes me tear up, crazy.

Dear Ms. Jansen, Ive seen literally 200 shows in my life. Rock, Broadway, Opera, Musicals, Country. Discovered your music through a TH-cam reaction. Please don't stop until after I can get to one of your shows this summer in Europe. I haven't anticipated seeing a show like this since my first Judas Priest concert in1980! Truly an epic band with an Epic singer.

Hey Michelle, here Piet from The Netherlands, 70 years. I discovered Nightwish four years ago. Floor Jansen was a participant in the Dutch Show ‘ De Beste Zangers 2019’ ( the best singers). Floor was fantastic there. All the songs of that show are on TH-cam. So ..from that time I am a huge Floor and Nightwish fan. So good. Greetings from the Netherlands

This was really really special Floor. You know I have watched so many reaction videos to this song and it’s always fun to watch people’s reaction to you. But now a reaction to the song by the singer herself?? It’s magic.
I only recently learned of Nightwish and I think the first song I listen to was Story Time. I was so amazed at your rich and powerful tone on that song that it caused me to become an instant fan. I thought I was listening to a very special vocalist. So naturally I had to find more songs by you. That’s when I eventually came across Ghost. I was completely blown out of my mind and began to believe what people were saying about “Floor Jensen”. The greatest voice in our time. Yup , on all on board with that statement. Never have I heard a more pure tone with so much power behind it and yet you can be gentle and everything else that you can do. Thank you for taking the time to put this video together. It is quite informative.
Oh one other thing that a lot of these reaction videos seem to miss. Your stage presence is so powerful that I can’t recall any performance that I can compare it to, to me it seems like you are some Amazon Queen leading you troops into battle. Personally, I've been following the reactions to Nightwish for over 6 years. Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band, performing here at Wacken Open Air festival 2013, together with Floor Jansen, the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of a 82k audience.
Also a recent sad news - these days Marco Hietala, the bass player and male singer of the band, announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least - we'll see what the future brings to us.
About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners.
As I saw, you enjoyed the powerful performance of the band, together with the stellar vocals of our Dutch metal queen, Floor Jansen. Hope you'll continue on this path.
Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland.
Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. Marco Hietala is the Bassist and vocals .And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition.
Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her.
There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps.

In these pandemic times, Floor Jansen has decided to make covers for us, which you can find on her YT channel - there are already 6 covers there, the first is "Let It Go" from "Frozen" (19 weeks ago, already over 2.257M views), the second - "Alone" from "Heart" , released 17 weeks ago - 1.070M and counting. Then 15 weeks ago she dropped the third cover, in Dutch: "Is Dit Nou Later" from Stef Bos - already 267K views. Just before Christmas she made a powerful cover of "Ave Maria" - already 282K views. 12 weeks ago she added a remastered / remixed version of the first one, "Let It Go" - already 183K. 10 weeks ago she added to the list a powerful cover of "Adagio" by Lara Fabian (!!!) - 385K views now. Then, just 5 weeks ago she gave us the last one so far: "Oblivion" by M83 - 386K views in 5 weeks..

there i was, four years in the army (not USA) and was on the bus back from the shooting range with my guys. had the headphones in and heard this performance. Did not know floor, did not know the song and just heard from nightwish. That performance was so beautiful that i nearly cried. i hid my face and the video and nearly shed some tears. i held it back, so that no one would notice.
after twelve years i quit the military and everytime i watch this video, it reminds me of this moment in time. Now i dont need to hold it back anymore. I love music for that.

Maybe the vocal aspects are the hardest to Floor, so she stresses them, but this performance was way beyond that. Every single hand movement, the shoulders in "Redeem me...", her stance on the ground, the body movements after the last note, absolutely everything was perfect. More than a perfect singing performance, this was a clear demonstration of pure art; of what art can be when mastered to its highest.

Floor watching Floor having a Floorgasm. That’s surreal. I’ve heard this song at least a thousand times, every time, I get the chills and an emotional rush, it never gets old to hear. Wacken 2013 has to be the best live concert recording ever recorded.

The thing is...i already knew and liked Nightwish since Oceanborn and Wishmaster, more than 20 years ago, but following too much bands i didn't care so much about the albums made after. Then, out nowhere, i discovered this version of the song just some days ago. Totally blown away and obsessed with your voice. Sometimes life is really strange!Thanks Floor, you make me smile everyday when i listen you.
I was there, at the Colombia concert, when Floor was sick, I was in the meet and greet and the guy in charge came and told us 'We are this close to cancel the concert because Floor is very sick' and we were like devastated. But then Floor came to stage and she sang like she wasn't sick at all, her voice was amazing, she was amazing, my sister and I couldn't believe that she could sing like that being sick. She's amazing, they're amazing, definitely my favorite band.

Just watched this for the first time …better late than never! I cried. I have been to Nightwish shows (like 20 y ago) but this! You have singers and then you have Floor Jansen, wow.
All the people: listen to Floor, admire her vocals, rejoice that she is in Nightwish, are surprised when they find out that she learned all the lyrics two days before the performance, fall in love with her...
Floor: notes that Empu has finished his beer and smiles, when see as he wanders back and forth across the stage as the verse plays.
Floor, you have absolutely no idea, of how special you are.
