Everyone that’s disrespecting the owner, it takes all sorts to keep the community alive. Nice to see a guy with a bit of life, let alone the fact he was having fun. I’d love to see how the majority of you would react having someone else driving your car, whilst recording a video that’s going on the internet for everyone else to criticise. Whether he’s saying “bruv” because he’s nervous or the fact it’s a word he’s comfortable using, it doesn’t matter. Either way he did well. Good car, good guy and a good ending.

13:00 had an M3 do exactly the same the other day coming towards me sideways as I approached the other side of the roundabout. Tony Ross I hear you, but the reason it didn’t effect me was because I managed to emergency brake before he ploughed into me head on. A little history: I am an ex firefighter, unfortunately i have had my fair share of RTC’s. Cutting people out of cars sometimes piece by piece doesn’t get any easier as the years go by. Plenty of the collisions that I attended were the fault of someone. Not a random lightning bolt. A hazard is something that can cause you harm (the tree on the rounderbout). A risk is the likely hood of that hazard causing you harm (if I drive sensibly around this rounderbout the likelihood of the hazard causing me harm is relatively low) (if I drive like a tit at 40 around this rounderbout the likelihood of the hazard “tree” causing me harm will be very high). So it’s all about choices. The lorry driver that chose to look at his phone before he ploughed into the back of the car crushing it to the size of a fridge killing the mother and her children a couple of years ago had a choice. If he had used his brain and thought “hey the risk of me using my phone right now is to high, I’ll wait till it’s safe”. That family would still be alive. We have a MASSIVE say in when it’s our time or more likely somebody else’s for that matter. I’m guessing your not a father. The day you are I can guarantee you your philosophy may change. I don’t tend to take my family out thinking “hey when it’s our time it’s our time, who am I to try and intervene”.

Its actually a very light car for its size, because its made of aluminium it weighs about the same as a 5 series(1800kg ish) but the size of a 7 series
2418kg... its on the sticker on the door... got all the electric seats...tv's and other bits in the seats and car tgat make it heavier...fast for the weight thats all
@jakers2923 that's the gross recommended weight for the car - 5 adults, fully loaded boot & fuel tank.
The standard kerb weight is close to 1800kg.
And those are 20 inch wheels - Jaguar don't do 21 inch wheels for the XJ.

I've got the xjr575 V8 supercharged that pull 1st through 6th is unreal even 7th at the right speed is decent 8th it will just cruise she's up at 615bhp at the moment but looking for 660 when I'm finished with it

Great to see you having so much fun, it is not as heavy as you think, Jaguar used aluminium for this XJ and the one before it, hence it is a great deal lighter than the owner thinks, which is why it is so quick.

@@jakers2923 Hi Jake, I know that all manufacturers weigh a totally de specced car plus I can see a full tank adding perhaps 80? Other fluids perhaps max 50kg, 2,450 is seriously Bentley/Electric heavy. Have you got a 200kg plus subwoofer in the boot? Heading over to your channel to have a look.
@@jakers2923 Hi Jake, I had a look. It is a lovely car that you should be really proud of. It is not quite as fat as you think. The weights stamped on that plate are often confusing. I have worked in the industry making cars and thought that the plate detailed actual weight until an engineer talked me through the different "weights" that you have to provide for vehicle approval, those shown are the maximum permissable/allowable vehicle weights. There are also numbers for front and rear axle. The max permissable vehicle weight is the maximum that it is certified for. When loaded up. Say put four Rugby players plus their luggage in the car and it would add perhaps 500 kg to the unladen weight, but it is still certified as safe to drive. The manufacturers also call it gross vehicle weight. It is a heavy car but closer to 1,950 than 2,450 without anyone in it and a sub 12 is properly fast. Don't know how to do a thumbs up in the text.
What you said does make sense if im honest but its an xj autobiography ... so all seats moves including the back 2, plus all heated and cooled and massage. Plus the 2 telllys and a few other bits, the seats are over a 100kg on there own. A normal xj will be around 1.9ton without all the trimmings. Thanks for the compliment as my dad love's his car... lost my mum as a kid so its how we connected over the years was with cars. Its not for everyone but he loves the car and that's all that matters i think. thanks for the nice comments 👍
@@jakers2923 Hi Jake, great that you are both having fun and sharing something. I'm a real car fan so will be buying an XJ when funds allow. Trying to work out how much power I can safely get out of a diesel (I do mega miles and am lucky to have something British with half the weight and a V8 for the country roads, don't think that it is as fast as your/your Dad's Jag even with a similarly large V8 and half the weight!!!! And probably slower round the corners as well!!).
