I've noticed most people are "programmed" to see The Ninja as the blender to buy. They market the sh*t out of 'em. So, maybe a side by side comparison to The Vitamix with all aspects of cleaning them. Hands down Vitamix is the easiest. ✌
Great video and I am glad I have the 5200. I also didn't realize that different models do not all work the same. I also use mine daily and have had it for 10+ years.
After years of drinking chunky smoothies in my Ninja, I've finally decided to stop being cheap, and get a Vitamix, but wasn't sure what model to get. This review is excellent, and so timely! Thanks for posting! And yes, I would love to see more reviews; maybe small food processors?
What a helpful video! I’ve owned the 5200 for about 9 years +/- One of the best purchases I’ve ever made. It seemed like a fortune at the time. I had no idea there was a smaller adapter available. At one point I was considering purchasing the shorter version because of storage. I think I’m happy with the 5200!
Great comparison and clear explanation of the issues with the wide blender jars. Luckily, the tall 64 oz jar of the 5200 works just fine on the Explorian!
This video has helped me pick the right model. I’m replacing my Vitamix blender since the motor blew after 8 years of having it. It’s been through a lot. thank you!
Thank you soooo much for this video! 🙏 I’ve been wanting a new blender and the Experian was tempting because of the height (and price), but your review has changed my mind. 5200 all the way, baby! ❤
Hello, I own a Vitamix 7500 and one of the many things I love about it is that I can also use a standard-tall 64oz container. You can also use your tall 64 oz container on your Explorian model and it should work just fine. Just don't use the wide-base 64 oz container on your 5200 model as it doesn't have 2.2 hp.
I wish you would review the Ascent X series. From what I've seen, the 48oz containers are narrow at the base like the 5200 64oz containers. The units have a smaller footprint, are lighter and quieter, and come with a 10 year warranty.
Great comparison! I noticed similar differences (my mom has the 5200). I have the 750, and bought the 32oz container so I could make your dressings etc. That one splatters less, and is what I use most of the time. The 750 is also a little quieter, which made a big difference in my very echo-y apartment. For larger volumes, I do think the wider container blends a little faster. And as you pointed out, you tamp more on the 5200. But if you only have room for 1 container, then easily the 5200 is the way to go!
Smart with the 32 oz container!! I can see how the wider one could blend faster when you have a large amount to blend. I guess we don't blend huge amounts that often! (I have the Vitamix immersion blender for soups, so we usually use that for large batches.)
Getting ready to finally buy a Vitamix to my husband. He is the one that knows how to cook in this house and he deserves it. Im probably going with the 5200 model.
I purchased an A3500 I do not blend stuff up for just 1 person. I make batches up for 2 or 3 people and I have Never had chunks of anything left in the Mix that I have made up. For small batches maybe the 5200 is a better fit but I can not imagine a much better blender than my A3500 Accent . I made a small batch of peanut butter in the 20 oz container and it came out GREAT just to see if the advertisement was not lying . The Container over heated and I was worried that I did something wrong because I could not get the mixer to work with the 20oz container after I made the Peanut Butter when all of my other attachments worked just fine. After letting the 20oz container sit for about a half hour it worked just fine. The 8oz containers make Great powders with no chunks just fine powder. I sure hope that they bring the 20oz and 8oz containers back for the Accent series blenders I would like 1 or 2 20oz containers to add to what I already have. Different people have different needs.
so helpful. I have the E310 explorian blender. It blends well but i have a massive issue with the lid - it's never secured on properly and more liquidy blends come out from both the pouring spoout and the handle. I don't know why i've put up with it. I assume that's not right, i got it on Amazon. I got it in June 2021 so i'm sure i can't do anything about it. Maybe the add on is a good option for me.
Do you maybe put too much liquid and leave very small air for the pressure to go out? One suggestion is to leave the top hole open (the tampering hole) and hold the top with a kitchen towel so the air can go out. Sounds like a volume issue.
I was going to buy a E310 but your review definitely makes me change my mind. The problem is that the 5200 is almost impossible to find in Europe and very expensive (~800€ / 825$). UPDATE: I'm wondering if the Classic 64-ounce Container, that can be purchased separately and which is the same as the 5200, is compatible with the E310? So that we could buy a E310 + the Classic 64-ounce Container... Anyone an idea? Thanks. Another thing. Although I understand that you compares two containers of the same size, there may not be all these issues with the 48 ounces Explorian container (instead of the 64 ounces in the video). The shape of the 48 ounces is closer to the classic shape of the 5200. Also in the E310 VS 5200 comparison on rtings (I don't put a link here), videos show that most of the ingredients stay at the bottom of the 48 ounces E310.
Would the splatter up the sides be due to the smaller batch in the explorian more than anything else? It’s a wider base which is unfortunate but from what I’ve read online it isn’t suitable for small batches
Yes, that's definitely a factor! But I often find myself blending batches that are small enough to do this... so you'd have to make 3-4 cups of something to avoid the issue. (Fine for soups or huge batches of smoothies! I'm usually blending for 2 people, so the splatter happens every day.)
@@DetoxinistaRecipes OK. ALl road seem to lead to the 5200 even though it is a ridiculous 64 oz. It seems all the smaller ounce ones are wider. It is just me so I really wanted a smaller container, but if you use it for single serving..nut butter, cashew cheese, sauces?
@@jennyfromtheblock1sounds like you’d need E310 that comes with the 48oz container with smaller blades, which will perform similar to 5200, which had narrow end through the blades to process small batches better.
I am in the UK and it does not appear possible to buy a new 5200 here. Does anyone know if the tall 5200 jug would fit on a new E310 base that normally holds the new wider jug?
Okay, the video says, the best Vitamix ever. But you only compared 2. Based on current experiences, how do you feel about the smarter options with more presets? Please see pictures to share things you wonder that a non-Vitamix owner might miss. Something like the narrow base you mentioned in this video.
When I can afford to buy more models, I will include them in a future video. As someone who has used a Vitamix for the past 15 years, I can't imagine needing one of the preset buttons, so I wouldn't spend more money to have that. It only takes 60 seconds or less to blend most things, so there's not much need to press a button and walk away, like you would from an Instant Pot or slow cooker. But, I'd love to hear if someone else really enjoys the preset buttons!
@@DetoxinistaRecipes I see where you're getting at. I know you don't own an X5 but what can you tell from the pictures when it comes to basic functionality that I might overlook? Things like container shape for example. Or motorsize.
to be fair, you need to use a 48oz container (e310) for that small batch of salad sauce instead of 64oz. But narrow and tall 64oz is literally performing better in every use case (small and larger batches) so why did they even widened the containers is beyond me.
Yes, I love that the 64 oz can blend small batches! I'm guessing most people don't want to own & store two separate containers for an already pricey blender.
I think it would only have a chance of overheating if you blend for a long time, like when making almond butter from scratch. I don't use blenders for that because a food processor is WAY easier!
I'm a Vitamix-Guy. Call vitamix and ask them if they can take a look at it ?

If prices were the same or close to the same, would you go with the 5200 or the 750 pro? I ordered both recently but have only used the 5200 so far.
The 750 looks like it has the same pitcher-shape as the Explorian... so I think I would prefer the 5200.
