Looking good Marty!! Just a word of advice from a fellow evo9 owner; I advise on upgrading your tcase and rear diff if you’re hitting power beyond 400bhp. Especially if you’re going to be hitting the drag strip and dumping the clutch at 4K rpm. The weakest part of evos are the transmission and drivetrain- not the engine. I would hate to see you blow something on your driveline launching trying to beat the R!!
Probably shouldn't be dumping the clutch at 4k rpm though, I would advise a bit more rpm so it doesn't bog down and also slipping the clutch on the initial launch to take some of the shock out of it. Simply dumping the clutch over and over will definitely lead to disaster

can you get some pro drivers to do a battle in the cars to really see what is faster/better? I feel like you two care to much to really flog them.
The DSG automatic and Haldex center diff in the Golf makes this a no brainer. No matter how much more I like the Evo, it is going to need close to a 100hp more than the golf to win in a straight line.
So we can spend weeks fixing them again and not get to drive them? no thank you :)
i guess you have not seen when marty tried to launch supergramps and broke 2 axles at the same time
I really do love the music from this channel, really underrated imo.
You didn't say "First step Jack up your car." :-(
Those last couple of pulls moved the initial uptick on the curve further to the right, and made it less linear. Marty is going to have to keep the RPM way up coming out of corners, or he's just going to be left for dead by the Golf.
