Your wallet is beautiful. You are going to be churning out the projects now that you are so organized! I am a Sue Spargo stitcher wanna be. It seems like a major investment in thread so I haven’t had the courage to take the plunge yet. See you Saturday!!
Hi Anna! I live in Ohio and went to Sue Spargo’s shop in June. What a candy store! The staff gave us a “walk about” tour of where the wool is dyed by her son, the warehouse of all the fabulous prepared wools, threads, ribbons and anything Sue Spargo. We were there for almost two hours. We met and talked with Sue and her son. One of my many purchases was the wallet in your video. Thank you for your time and videos. I always look forward to them.
Your method of stitching before fusing it to the bag makes so much sense. I am just starting to get into wool appliqué so I appreciate all your helpful hints. Thank you.
Thank you Anna for the demo. Although I have Sue's book, it is so much easier to understand when actually watching someone demo it. Huge help and many thanks!
So love it when you show us when you make a project. The fabric the Yazzi bag is made of makes sewing hard work! Good for you for figuring out an easier way to get around it.
Thank you so much love spending time with you in the bee hive. Great idea stitching layers first. P.S. My husband has honey bees, I love all your bees.
Oh Anna! Just what I needed after darning a patch onto my Grandsons swim team "jammers" on the wrong side. (had to tear it out stitch by stitch, black on black and re-do it) I'm only 8 minutes in and you already have me chuckling out loud.
Anna we made needlebooks in my sewing guild. One lady stitched the needle name and number with her built in lettering on her sewing machine. It was super cool! Please do a show and tell on your threads! They look yummy!
Anna use a curved needle to sew the final wool applique to the Yazzi Wallet or other bags, it makes the stitching so much easier. Enjoy watching you in your bee hive
It looks great Anna, I’m going to treat myself with one for Christmas I think. I like the idea of doing some of the stitching off the Yazzi bag and then attaching it after. I was worried you might melt the vinyl. I never thought you’d try and fuse the ribbon! Glad you had another one to use. Looking forward to seeing it in person.
Please tell us more about the different threads/brands and needles! Have you ever designed your own wool patterns? You're so creative, I bet you'd be good at it! Loved this video and seeing your current project, especially if getting completed and seeing your happiness at doing so. 👍
back in the 90's I had a handful of patterns but not since...I just want to have fun and not work at it, lol I am going to do a video in the future about thread and needles :)
Hey there. I am sort or a fusible-ish girl, but I use a little dab of Roxanne's glue and heat set it. It sticks well so that I don't have to baste or pins my wool down on my project before stitching it.
Wow. You looked powerful in your power red. It carried through the entire process. I am waiting for fall to start my wool projects. Have been crocheting for Christmas in July projects for family and friends. Wow you will rock your next class with your organization.
That was awesome..I do have Sue Spargo's book and i just learned one of the first ones on my last project for baby quilt. the stitch was called whipped running stitch. i got a stencil for a flower and used it on the baby quilt.. i love how it came out. as time goes on, I'm going to be more brave and learn the others. Lol. I know you like listening or reading your books. I've found a series called Elm Creek Quilts Series byJennifer Chiaverini. I just started reading the first book and its really good. Its more heartfelt. I also enjoy reading my cozy amateur sleuths books and found some quilt themed ones. One series I've really enjoyed was Southern Quilting Mystery Series by Elizabeth Craig. If you like mysteries or anyone else, that's a good one. There are others too. :-)
Hola Anna, me ha encantado el tutorial. Yo estoy aprendiendo, me compre el libro de Sue Creative Stitches y estoy haciendi el muestrario de los circulos,es tan entretenido, me gusta muchisimo.
Organization is what people do instead of sewing, crafting or, even cooking. But, especially it's is what people who are claiming they are quilters really do, they stay organised.
I loved this tutorial on embellishing your small/needle organizer bag. Two questions: 1. are the bobbins pre-wound wool thread and 2. where did you get the vinyl bags for your spooled threads? I need to be that organized. Thanks Anna.
A friend wound the bobbins for me off of some of her thread because a spool would last forever! the vinyl bags are on Sue Spargo's site...www.suespargo.com/index.php
Love your tutorials! Do you think you will ever create your own patterns? I think you would be amazing at it and I bet I’m not the only one who thinks so!!
Loved this! Could you do a video to explain the different size needles and what to use on wool and what size for cotton? And thread? What size thread for what? You said wool thread ? The thread in the doughnuts is that thread that comes like embroidery thread and you put it on bobbins? Thank you.
Hi Anna..your thread keeper that's circular, is that for bobbins?,and then you wrap your threads on the bobbin?...nice idea, also have you ever used the wool thread that is out now...thanks..loved your tutorial 💕
it is for bobbins but not to be used in machines but to give you a variety of colors when you need them for handstitching. This is the wool thread from Sue Spargo...haven't tried the new stuff :)
Ello Anna, I was wondering where you purchased those rings of thread from? I have looked high & low for that type of various wool threads as I am working on a piece that is multi coloured. I know you are a busy lady but if you find time an reply would be greatly appreciated Thank You !!!!!
I have heard the company is no longer selling them but I saw the empty rings for sale at BJ's in Bend, Oregon and then you can wind your own bobbins for yourself :)
This is one rabbit hole I haven't fallen into yet! That was a great idea to fuse the pieces together and do the stitching on the topmost pieces before fusing the larger piece down. While you were working I was wondering if you unzipped the pockets and slip your fingers in while stitching if it would help to keep from the stitches either poking the plastic or coming through the lining. Also, could you have put a small piece of cardboard into the pocket when fusing to protect it from the heat - or maybe that wasn't necessary. I enjoy watching you stitch and that bullion stitch is wonderful and so versatile!
I did slip my finger in to check a couple of times but didn't need to do it continuously. it was the actual fabric on the top of the wallet that looked like it was going to discolor with the neat. yikes!
That’s lovely, Anna. Great stitch you showed us. You’re an excellent naturally teacher. Xx🇦🇺
What a delightful demonstration! Love your little embellished wallet for sewing things! Now I want to make one.🤔🥰

yeah!!! yes, the thread needs to be acquired a little at a time!

thanks for hanging out with me :)

I am always looking for ways to get my stuff done in an easier way :)
I love your Yazzi decorated sewing bag! I guess that's just the ticket to keep my handwork in order! ❤️
even if you don't get the project done you'll look go working on it, lol

Love your videos.
I love your stash closet. I'm retiring next year to Florida. Will be looking for a large closet in my sewing room.

Anna, will the thread that covers the soft fuse in the back interfere with the fusability in any way?
no really an issue for me :)
no really an issue for me :)
What do you use all of your multi color bobbin threads for?
for tiny whip stitches on wool projects before doing the embellishment stitches :)
Did I miss where to get the vinyl bag. please let me know thks 🌹
www.etsy.com/shop/harvestmoonbythelake have fun!
I didn't make a needle book so maybe that's why I can't finish my several Sue Spargo's BOM!
Ya See....I told you!!!
You are adorable!
