One thing I love about you....you let us know we own our project and there are no quilting police knocking on our door. Sadly there are snobby quilters but thankfully most are like you. My sister in law told me a good quilter has 22 stitches on her needle when hand quilting. I enjoy hand quilting...I think even stitches are better than how many you get on your needle. Gee...she gets her panties in a twist. You are such a joy and I enjoy every tutorial you make. You are a most positive lady. Thank you.
I also wondered. I may not be the greatest talent when it comes to quilting but I enjoy it. I admire quilters so much. Such fun to see how each creates such joy and fun. One of these days I hope to keep a project. I give mine away, mosty to our church mission teams. I so respect and enjoy Anna. Wouldn't you love to know her in person?
Yes we are HOT in Michigan, but we have A/C and lots of projects and I'm retired-so life is good! Anna, the "beehive" quilt is so cute and I love your "bee" brain-it suits you so well as you are always-busy, busy busy! Safe travels to you and G. Thanks for sharing your life just a bit with us!!
I watch you while sewing. My hubs likes the tv on all the time. So if he is out and about I have nothing on. I can hear my dog breathing. What a hoot. But it's peaceful. Enjoy yourself
We downsized last year from a 35 ft motor home to a ‘van’ and we love it for all the reasons you gave for changing. We took it out for 3 days for the Western Washington Shop Hop and it fit nicely into every quilt store parking lot. And we even have two dogs who travel everywhere with us. I have yet to take my featherweight, but always take handwork. It takes a fair amount of organization on the front end of the trip, but I’m sure you will love it.
Wow ~ I've loved following your adventures and I love the way your life style changes ~ it's very inspiring! We recently made quite a life change ~ packed up and moved from southwest Florida to Las Vegas, NV! Had enough of the humidity and hurricanes. :) We're both in our late 60s and we decided we wanted to do it while we're still healthy enough for the adventure. No regrets ~ we love the dry heat and the mountains!! Can't wait to hear about your camping adventures in your new van ~ safe travels!!
Oh my word I just love the press and seal trick....thank you bunches for sharing...I’m so late to this party, I just found your podcast so now I’m trying to binge watch 😀😀😀😀❤️
LOL! You are not the only one who “discovers” treasures in unexpected places. We came home from Sisters after the quilt show (enjoyed meeting you and G) to extreme heat here in NW Indiana. It has cooled off some but I have been hiding out in the ac. I have had a little trouble with soft fuse not sticking but I think it may be older stash and never considered humidity. I still use it most of the time bc it sticks pretty well without making my needle gummy. That has been a problem with some other fusibles I have used. Looking forward for to hearing about your adventures down the road. Happy trails Anna!!
Have this quilt/wool applique Bee Hive pattern too. Love it. Was going to make it for my Brother & Sister In-Law in that he is a BEE Wrangler in KS. I've decided to do it for my house. I'm going to make several extra blocks and make a smaller project for them. It's hard to make these projects for others when you don't know if they will hang it. Going to hang it in my Kitchen.... ENJOY.....
Thank you so much for introducing me to the Press n Seal! It's exactly what I was looking for! I am enjoying your videos so much. I'm pretty new to wool appliqué and you have been so helpful!
I am a fluffy bee and so glad that you made those bees YOUR bees. They turned out lovely! Your enthusiasm may just get me out of my creative slump. Happy Camping too!. . Bzzzz . 🙃🙂 TFS .
Good morning! Have not been able to watch you in a while, life gets so busy sometimes. This is a sweet treat, love that new project , have to check that store hopefully they have on line shopping 😁.
Can’t wait to see your CamperVan! That sounds perfect to me! Oh my goodness! I LOVE the Bee Hive quilt! Glad you changed the words! So perfect for the Bee Hive! Can you please tell us again who that’s by and where we might find the kit! What thread will you be using to stitch your pieces down with? Anna I so love you and your videos! They just brighten my day! 💕💕 Happy quilting and camping! Stay cool!
Hi Anna, I live in Perth Western Australia and I watch your videos whenever I can, you inspire me to try new things, wool embroidery being the latest. We don't get snow here, but I always have snow related things around at Christmas even though it's our summer, my children think this is crazy, but it's right for me as I originally came here from England and so Christmas should be winter. I know it's just one of those crazy mind things, but there we are. Keep on doing the videos, and keep safe xx
Two of our grandchildren actually LIVE in their vans! It's amazing how little you can make do with - simplifying life isn't all bad....have a great time! Looking forward to the "reveal" when you leave on your first trip for this summer in your new van. :-)
Love your bee project. I also love stitching time when it's quiet and I can totally immerse myself in the project I'm working on. I live in Michigan and the humidity is bad, but better days are coming. Enjoy your travels!
I had a great time spending your prepping time with you. I had to laugh when you said you wanted your bees to look like you, Round. Many of us who are older and retired are round!! I love it. Have fun on your maiden voyage in the van! And yes it is so hot and humid here in Pennsylvania. I would love some chill. I do not complain about the winter weather, only the drivers if we have snow. Have fun.
we are rounder I decided because when we fall we will bounce, lol one thing about being on the road is you realize the driving test must be too simple!!!
I agree about that “tic rock”! My husband and I came through your area about a week after the quilt show. Pretty area and enjoyed the fabric stores!!! I wanted to stay longer but husband wanted to move on and get out from traffic and tourist!
Hello..I am new to your YT videos--I just love your "take" on doing your own thing with patterns! I am making a funky turkey/pumpkin wallhanging and am doing that, too...my squishty pumpkin will have prim sunflowers growing out of it lol just for fun...and they are really just circles of sunflower fabrics..so easy..... thanks for a super video...I will be going back and watching others Hugs, julierose
Anna, I also did a Bee project, but I used wool for the body and then I did bullion stitches across the back. First time I did the bullion stitch. I am pleased as how it came out. Love you !!!!!!
Hi Anna. It’s just organized clutter. I just got a new T-shirt. It says. I can’t clean my sewing room. Because I get distracted by all the good stuff I find again. Our Crazy Life!!!
I want to see the new van and how you organize. We have a 23 ft vintage trailer. I know I can turn it into a sewing trailer! We have only had our for 1 year but I love it
Love to follow you and G on you're next travel, love to see your new quiltroadies "house" to ;-) you and G made a big decision to go back to smaller space. Love your Bee hive project and the bees you made are must more like real bees. Happy traveling and hope to see you soon !! Love that this was a long one
In my world, you are perfect😊 you crack me up! Thank you again for a great video, not only I learned a lot but started my Day smiling. I love your rounded bees too, they would match me also LOL 😂
Can’t wait to see your stitching on that wall hanging. It’s sew cute. Hope you have happy travels in your new camping van and I hope everything fits in there lol. Yes it felt like 115 degrees with the humidity factored in here south of Chicago last week but this week in the low 80s with less humidity, yay! I love your videos and look forward to seeing you and G on the road! ❣️
I feel at peace sitting in my shed with all my treasures around me with just the silence and my thoughts..it’s a special feeling that feeds the soul. I love your new project and agree...nice round 🐝s ...I’m round...very round 😂🤣. 😘💐
We have had truck campers and trailers and with our truck camper once we got set up but we wanted to go sight seeing we would have to leave the campsite and unhook if we are hooked to shore power, sewer water etc. I have seen those converted vans and they are beautiful. We will be buying a 20ft trailer soon. Love your project.
Great video, as always, Anna. Love you. I called my hubby in to hear what you were saying about the clock ticking louder as we get older. We have had this same conversation so much lately. There's a lot of truth in that. We, too, have some changes that we will be making this year and I'm really excited about that. Have a safe and wonderful trip. Thanks again for sharing.
Have a fun and safe trip. Anxious to see how much stitching you get done on the Bee Hive wall hanging. BTW I like the way you choose to do the bees, they are soooo cute!. Happy travels.
I like your bees better than the patterns bees. So cute! I’ve never seen press and seal in Canada. Will have to watch for it when in the states next. Love your videos. Thanks for all you teach us!
I can see why you want to make "Remember the Giver" ADORABLE ♥ Will be fun to see how you like traveling in your new van, seems like a great idea!! Wishing you and G fun and safe travels. Loved this video so much :)
Thanks for sharing your life with us - you're a lot of fun and have a lot of good info. Off the wool prepping topic - the Trader Joes pomegranate and blueberry ice tea. Where is it in the store: cooler, shelf, teabag infusion? I'd love to try it, thanks!!
Love watching your videos and love your projects....my taste and interests are similar to yours. Quilt Roadies is perfect for me as we like to travel and I am picking up a lot of good tips to prepare projects for trips. Thank you!
Good rainy morning...good? Yep gives me a reason to stay in and watch you and quilt.....lol....have you ever used Glad Press and Seal? I just watched ABQ Connie Sue showing how to make Quick Prep Appliqué ......never knew this duhhhh. Wool is so expensive so some quilting is being done with good cotton....by me......this method helps a lot.....
So, I went straight to Etsy and ordered this pattern, it is so CUTE, now I can't wait to get it, thanks for the tip using the Glad press and seal... and the permission to deviate from the pattern, I think I will put "WELCOME" over the little door to the beehive. Blessings, 🐝 Have a safe trip!
LOVE 💕 your shirts ! I really like how you show us to use own mine or choices if we choose. Thank you ☺️ oh, the van will be different, but so many people do that for the very reason you say. I do hope you have room for your sewing machine. I’m sure your husband knows he must do that. Lol. I like that iron bag you got so neat. Love the Bee hive quilt your making. I like those little bees 🐝 on your sewing machine... so cute ! I’m working today on some wool. I do wish the wool had some cuter wool, so sometime i use flannel instead. I know some people say ( you must use wool ). But thats me. Oh lord, your blocks look so wonderful.
I didn't bring the sewing machine on this shake down camp but we will be figuring it out before we take off on a long trip! I think mixing wool and flannel is great if it gives you the look you want!
Happy trails Anna ....funny you ve down sized I have been checking out renting a camping type van for next year....you have inspired me in more ways than one !
You are just a hoot, Anna! When you said you were downsizing your recreational vehicle, that's the FIRST thing I thought of was "Where the devil is she going to put her featherweight and iron!!" Second thought "What to do with all the other stuff?" AND THEN " can G stand up in the van!!" See, we DO worry about you! LOLOL Nice work on prepping the new hanging. It's really cute! And what's that saying? "If mama's not happy, ain't NOBODY happy!!" I wish there was more time because I'd love to buy a Bowler trailer or something similar. Have a fantastic trip and we'll be following you. Will chat later!
Well since this is the shakedown trip to figure stuff out...let's just say we are having a blast but there is a lot to figure out, lol I have fit a lot of stitching in here and it is a constant shuffle (but worth it) and yes, G can stand up although he has bonked his head a couple of times getting into the drivers seat! So far this mama is happy :)
@@quiltroadies1695 Just don't forget to pick the velcro off the dash in the truck. You'll need it for the van to put your ruler box full of threads into. Don't you just love this voyeurism???? heehee You could always put a baby bumper of some sort in place so G doesn't bump his head. Velcro it!! That's really annoying!!!! LOLOL
Anna, the little bit of quilts I saw on UTube during the show were stunning. So many extraordinary designs, techniques, ideas and presentations. Oh my!!!
Anna, lt is 9:00 at night and I am laying in bed (Mackenzie is asleep next to me🐩)watching this video. I am laughing out loud.. what a joyful way to end my day.. love you loads! Glenda and Mackenzie
Well thanks to you, I have found another thing to spend money on. 😊 I recently discovered you and have watched quite a few of your quilt shop visits. I have decided I really want to work on some wool applique projects and have purchased a couple kits and a book which should be arriving soon from Buttermilk Basin. Can’t wait! I am on the opposite coast from you but grew up in southern Ca. I think we are pretty close in age. Your young and positive spirit is a pleasure to watch. One question, how do you approach cutting very small wool pieces and pieces with small holes without rough edges? That intimidates me a bit. Thank you, I look forward to watching what comes next. Robin
I have yet to try soft fuse, I tried Wonder Under and did NOT like it. Pellon's Designer's Lite is what I have been using. So, you are right. Everybody can like something different. Whatever works ;)
I usually type it on the computer and print out, just to see how it goes, then adjust accordingly. Works well for me. That way I can change the Font size and also the style of lettering.
Love the shirts! That project is adorable, especially the bees. On something that's 1/4 inch, like the black stripes, what stitch do you use to applique them down? Have a wonderful trip!
Hi Anna, I have a question when you have a chance. I’m trying to trace my Buttermilk Basin project to Soft Fuse and I’ve tried several pens including a fine Sharpie but all have smeared. Could you let me know what you use? I hope you’re having a great camping trip. Thanks, Karen
You inspired me once again. I new to a lot of this. Can u tell me the type & brand of needle you are using on the wool projects you are using on the buttermilk basin & project u just demoed
I am new to wool sewing and have a question about the stitches. On the bee body the black part do you want the stitches to show do you do a blanket stitches. Also is there a special kind of thread. I enjoy listening to you. I need help. Thank you
Anna, I have watched many of your videos about your wool projects and even purchased a block kit (which I have yet to get to😊). I am wondering if these projects are just wallhangings or if they go into quilts? If you use them as quilts do you sandwich them like regular quilts with batting? And how do you quilt them? Seems like the quilting stitches would kind of disappear into the wool? Also, how do you clean these quilts? Lots of questions I know but am new to wool. Love your videos.
most of them are wall hangings. For the large ones I put a thin bat but for table mats and such...nothing inbetween. Large wool bed quilts require dry cleaning so not very practical.:)
Hope you get this message. When I’m putting words on a project I use my computer and the program Word . They have fonts of all kinds of scrip and size . Hope this helps . Have a great time camping . Stitch on , Patti 🧵✂️
You always have cute bee patterns. I enjoy watching you show them to us. Have you seen the wall hanging that Barn Chick Quilts in Washington is showing on their latest email? Check it out. You will love it.
Lovely project. My `Sewing Thimble Blossom` pattern has come so I`m sorting my fabric`s for cotton and wool to start on this. I would have loved to get this as a BOM but the postage and exchange rate makes it triple the price! So sad about that but then it becomes my choice of what to use. :) What have you put on the back of your blocks so you can stitch. Happy Stitching.
Clare Campbell I bought Thimble Blossom Summer Block of the Month kits 2 and 7 a while ago. I've got myself wrapped up in cross stitch right now but will do these blocks in the fall and get back to quilting in the winter. So many projects, so little time. I know what you mean by the postage and exchange rates! Outrageous, if you ask me!!! Canada is soooooo far behind these crafts that it's so hard to source anything here. But at least you put a positive spin on it! LOLOL
it seems in my world with tariff wars going on the prices of everything are rising :( The Sewing Thimble Blossom is so adorable! I backed my blocks with Pellon SF101 which is a very lightweight interfacing because the linen was so ravely
Hi Anna, I am new to your channel. Can you explain a little about your "stitching" ? Is it cross stitch or embroidery or what? Maybe let me know what is beginner friendly.
oh my...it is all those things and more. I love it all and there are beginner projects for all genre...so you just have to pick which one you want to start with and enjoy!
Anna , you're not behind , you're just pasting yourself . I've got news for you , once you get behind it seems like you never it fought up . So I never say I'm behind ! It's just stuff I'll do tomorrow . Hope y'all enjoy the new camper van . Until your next video .
Thank you.
I wonder who made that 22 stitch rule...they are probably laughing their a** off. I think the #1 rule should be "have fun"

Have this quilt/wool applique Bee Hive pattern too. Love it. Was going to make it for my Brother & Sister In-Law in that he is a BEE

oh wouldn't the center block be sweet for them with their name and maybe the year they moved into their house???....the ideas just boggle the mind!
Thank you so much for introducing me to the Press n Seal! It's exactly what I was looking for! I am enjoying your videos so much. I'm pretty new to wool appliqué and you have been so helpful!
I did get an A in penmanship but press 'n seal helps me get an A+
Loved this one. I sat crocheting and listening to you talk. You inspire me to keep trying. Love the "Bee Hive" project. Love and hugs always.
yeah...all we can do is try! How hot is it in your neck of the world?
I just love this project your working on. And I love visiting with you on you tube !

GENIOUS -->The Press and Seal. Awesome tip!!!
It's so stinking hot and humid here in Maine right now that quilting and wool work will have to wait. I'm having withdrawals! Love that pattern!
I can't imagine because I would have to sit naked with a constant spray of cool mist...not conducive to wool stitching, LOL
Love your bee project. I also love stitching time when it's quiet and I can totally immerse myself in the project I'm working on. I live in

it was in the section where the bottle water/wine area is...so yummy!!!
@@quiltroadies1695 OK, thanks. I didn't see it so maybe my store doesn't carry it.
Can’t wait too see it finished Anna x
someday lol
Love watching your videos and love your projects....my taste and interests are similar to yours. Quilt Roadies
is perfect for me as we like to travel and I am picking up a lot of good tips to prepare projects for trips. Thank you!
oh goodie I like hearing about Quilt Roadie peeps getting tips on traveling...this world is grand!
I love the bee quilt a beautiful job preppin
Love how your bees turned out! Super cute pattern that I will have to get my hands on! Happy camping!!
my bees are very cute!
Good rainy morning...good? Yep gives me a reason to stay in and watch you and quilt.....lol....have you ever used Glad Press and Seal?
I just watched ABQ Connie Sue showing how to make Quick Prep Appliqué ......never knew this duhhhh.
Wool is so expensive so some quilting is being done with good cotton....by me......this method helps a lot.....
that is what I used Glad press 'n seal :) I have people in my class that use cotton and flannel with the wool patterns and it looks awesome.
So, I went straight to Etsy and ordered this pattern, it is so CUTE, now I can't wait to get it, thanks for the tip using the Glad press and seal... and the permission to deviate from the pattern, I think I will put "WELCOME" over the little door to the beehive.
Blessings, 🐝
Have a safe trip!
Oh I am soooo excited! I shall be encouraging you as I make my way through the blocks!
Happy travels! Love your appliqué! It is going to finish just beautiful!
thanks!
Happy trails Anna ....funny you ve down sized I have been checking out renting a camping type van for next year....you have inspired me in more ways than one !
😂😂😂😂😂 hi you're so funny....you're absolutely right about bees. I love your bees👍👍👍😂😂😂 have a nice trip. Next week I'm heading to Sturgis too. Be safe
have fun biker chick! lol there is a quilt shop near there :)
Oh my!!!
truly inspirational!
Omg a van camping. How exciting, I like the van ideal. Flexibility is the key!!!
yes it is proving to be the right decision!
Hi Anna, please show us your new to you van. Love your channel and projects. Tfs, Laurie in Tampa Bay, Fl.
it will be the next video maybe this coming weekend...finding WiFi is the most challenging when traveling even with the hotspot.
Love how your bees turned out. They look more like bees. 👍🏻👍🏻😊😊
I agree, lol
I enjoy the longer video!
sometimes I worry when they get too long...
Anna, lt is 9:00 at night and I am laying in bed (Mackenzie is asleep next to me🐩)watching this video. I am laughing out loud.. what a joyful way to end my day.. love you loads! Glenda and Mackenzie
I love being a bed time story...hugs and smooches to Mac
Okay, where did that very cool t-shirt come from? You always find the best!
A lot of my tees are online😀
I’m totally new to wool embroidery so all info helps. Need to know what tools and notions are a must
number one...Kai scissors!
Love the Bee Hive wall hanging Where can I find the kit for this would love to do this one
see if Olde World Quilt Shop in Cave Creek will make one up for you!
My husband is a Bee Keeper, I have to show him your Bees!❤️
oh he would love this one with his name and BeeKeeper underneath...just sayin
Robin
Don’t forget to show us the new vehicle. I can’t wait to see it1
I have yet to try soft fuse, I tried Wonder Under and did NOT like it. Pellon's Designer's Lite is what I have been using. So, you are right. Everybody can like something different. Whatever works ;)
you got it!!!
I usually type it on the computer and print out, just to see how it goes, then adjust accordingly. Works well for me. That way I can change the Font size and also the style of lettering.
such a great idea!
Smart on putting the 101
Question on the bees stripes. Could you have fused the stripes on to the body fabric THEN traced the bodies and cut them out?
You can get as creative as you want! There are so many ways to meet a finish!
I enjoy you! : )
Love the shirts! That project is adorable, especially the bees. On something that's 1/4 inch, like the black stripes, what stitch do you use to applique them down? Have a wonderful trip!
thanks, you can either do a cross...crossing over the top or a tiny whip stitch :)
I use a cheap mechanical pencil!
Quilt Roadies Thank you!
You inspired me once again. I new to a lot of this. Can u tell me the type & brand of needle you are using on the wool projects you are using on the buttermilk basin & project u just demoed
I use a Chenille 24/26 size and especially like the golden eye ones because I can see them better to thread :)
I am new to wool sewing and have a question about the stitches. On the bee body the black part do you want the stitches to show do you do a blanket stitches. Also is there a special kind of thread. I enjoy listening to you. I need help. Thank you
I will not be doing the blanket stitch...too small of pieces so I'll do a weee bit of whip stitch :) I am using Valdani thread for this project :)
I just got that kit too! 😍😍😍
fun times ahead!
Hurry Anna, I want to see it!!!
Thanks, Anna, for the feedback. Yes, I hadn’t thought about having to dry clean the wool🤔
I would love to make a bird pincushion like yours - was it a kit? Pattern? Class?
sorry...it was a gift...I know there was a pattern but don't have a clue since I have had it for 5 years
Hope you get this message. When I’m putting words on a project I use my computer and the program Word . They have fonts of all kinds of scrip and size . Hope this helps . Have a great time camping . Stitch on , Patti 🧵✂️
PDNB214 Good idea , thanks for the tip ,
duh....what a great idea!!!!! Thanks!
Hi I'm to your channel and I wanted to ask if you wash the fabric with the soft fuse does it fall apart
You always have cute bee patterns. I enjoy watching you show them to us. Have you seen the wall hanging that Barn Chick Quilts in Washington is showing on their latest email? Check it out. You will love it.
Oh NO!!!
Love you Anna....
Anna I totally agree with having a day just for yourself...so very nice. I just have a hard time thinking you have any ugly in you...lol
some days you just need the quiet :)
Can you pkease tell me what double sided visible product you are using.
I use Soft Fuse :)
I would have put all the stripes on the bee body Fabric, then cut out the bee bodies.
smart stitcher!
Use your computer to write the message "The Bee Hive" in what ever font you like.
SA-WEET!!!
Question Anna- does the press and seal stick well to just wool?
it does but probably should be the first thing you stitch :)
Anna , you're not behind , you're just pasting yourself . I've got news for you , once you get behind it seems like you never it fought up . So I never say I'm behind ! It's just stuff I'll do tomorrow . Hope y'all enjoy the new camper van . Until your next video .
ohhhh I LIKE that!
I think that tool is called a bodkin
I knew you would know :)
We have to get to Sisters, we’re in Newport, so not that far away...
come on...really...that is a hop skip and a jump!
What kind of scissors do u use.??
Kai :)
