New to pressure casting. I will definitely be taking that desiccant pack tip to heart.
Those were great tips and most of them I never thought of. I will be using them the next time a do some casting.
Great tip with that parchment paper, Eric. I still use Tyvek house wrap to work on. I had a roll left over and it works great, too.
Ok, good idea, nice tip, thanks for sharing

Nice tips!
I haven’t done any resin casting yet. But I sure enjoy your channel and when I get into it I’ll have to review this video. Thanks for your commitment to your artform…
Some great tips, thanks!
I love the first tip, now I know what to do with thosep acks, thank you.
Instead of the parchment paper, I use a silicone baking matt, same effect but reusable :D
Great tips!
Super cool Eric
Thanks
Thank you. That is experience right there and you really share them too. Good tips and more power to you!
Great video and tips. Very useful. Mahalo for sharing! 🙂🐒
I love this video...and the others.
I really want to discuss some business projects with you. I really think it would be pure magic. Especially, since I'm in Westland.
Love to hear from you.
Contact me through my website, send along a pdf of your proposal
Great tips, thanks for sharing your knowledge Eric... invaluable !
great tips thanks!
Thanks, feel free to share on social media and let the world know
I'm always learning something.
great video! Do you save up the used syringes so you can do some target practice? :)
When casting small parts, I use 50 mL A/B 1:1 mixing syringes and dental tips to do low pressure injection of urethane and epoxy resin. I also use these (with larger tips) for mixing and pouring two-part silicone when creating the mold itself.
The mixing tips are very low cost, mix the ingredients very thoroughly, and introduce few, if any, bubbles. After creating dozens of molds and hundreds of castings, and never using a vacuum or pressure tank, I have only discovered bubbles in a couple of them.
Is there a downside to this approach that I haven’t yet experienced?
I need to investigate this
Hi Eric fantastic video's. Can I ask you a question. I have tried many different pigments added to polyurethane which when casted without pigments cast white. I am trying to make chess pieces with one side in a colour similar to cream and the other side similar to antique maroon. Burgundy with a wax feel and shine to them. I have tried pigments fr0m 1 to 5 %, but in each case get a mat finish and no where at all near the colour. Can you also advice on the percentage of filler and type of filler to increase the weight.
Finally how would you suggest how to make silicone sock moulds for epoxy casting, which pull of without needing additional support
Look forward to your opinions and support
Regards
Brian
use a clear resin, use a pigment not a tint. Your master has to be smooth and shiny, otherwise your parts will never be glossy. Make your parts hollow so you can add weight after casting. I suggest using a flexible silicone for sock molding.
When you spray the syringe plunger with the stoner rapid release, does that mold release agent affect the quality of the resin itself?
You've mentioned in the past, and to an extent in this video when talking about sticky casts from super green molds, that release agents can really negatively affect the quality of your casted pieces.
Or does that not affect the casting at all since the small amount of cured resin that is adhered to the plunger at the end of the process is the only bit of resin to make contact with the plunger, and therefore none of the release agent was integrated into the finished piece?
In this case it does not seem to affect the resin.
@@EricStrebel thank you so much for the tip! I'm so close to starting my molding and casting journey, and it's all thanks to you!
Gottverdammi, Du häsch a Troumjob.
