Thats true!!! The face can be really damaged on the especially nose qheb ubhit with stick and nunchukus. But mine which i bought in 2005 the face was dmaged only through punches with gloves.
I haven’t had that problem, but Bob is my “Good-Buddy,” and I only beat him with gloves on my fists. ;-) I might suggest getting a caulk gun, and load it up with one or more tubes of silicone-which you can create openings and “inject” it into Bob’s head. Silicone dries like a hard rubber, and it should provide lots of pleasurable punches/blows/strikes for a long time to come-and it shouldn’t break down. Weapons will wear it out much faster than using gloves or regular hands. Weapons have way more velocity especially nunchucks, sais, and escrima sticks. Bob is not indestructible they wear out like anything else, and even faster with weapons and lots of students using it all the time. You can't make it harder or will hurt your hands and have give. You may as well punch a wooden dummy. It is meant to simulate flesh and bone not to be soft yet also indestructible.

I use a dummy made of hard rubber. I essentially have to wear punching gloves. The century Bob is so soft, that say if you land your punch on the side of the face, instead of ricocheting, your hand will create a space. A real human face is not so soft, so my dummy gives practical practice.

Competition is built on necessity, and you see a flaw in their system. You deserve to be rewarded. Being inspired, without ripping off ideas, can happen. You know what your needs are, and I doubt they have any interest in "improving their product". Your critique is valid, and helpful. ✌🏽
It's one of those things, perhaps they could have a kind of solid gel like they use in gel hand wraps or rubber inside the head, maybe gel would feel more realistic, at the same time, it is fun to give Bob a full power roundhouse an strikes but maybe better to work on speed and precision rather than power until they develop a harder wearing one, heavy bag is better for conditioning and power, Bob for speed and precision I'd say
Wish I had seen this review before ordering mine. Just ordered one because it looked like it would make an excellent target practicing precision striking with my bokken. I use a hard heavy target and my Suburito when doing strength training building muscle memory. I wouldn’t hit this thing 1000x over and over like that but I still hit very hard and fast. I can just see bobs head tearing off even with a lightweight bokken =*( Ohh well. I can still use to practice punching. Not much of a martial artist but can’t hurt to practice since he’s on his way anyway.

I use daily punching and after two month of use ive become a master of throat punches. Overall i say i like it except at night when im in the house by myself, creepy looking MF. Im not sure i would spend that kind of money again but i have fun beating him to a pulp. Great stress relief.

Have you talked to them about warranting it? Probably had it too long. I'm kinda surprised as much as you show your "Bobs" and as many viewers you get they don't slide you one on the free... I actually just bought a Bob XL because of watching your videos and a few others. 1st time I've seen you allow commenting. Can you do some videos with some older students? Most seem like really young kids. It'd be nice to see some older bigger folks from time to time. Thanks
I think you are in a good position to design a competing product which you can use in your school and sell. You can add a sensor option to calculate impact force, speed, and combo technique and provide a score for each fighter. This can be cloud based to keep a global top 100 list of fighters. I feel at least some of the parts of this product may fall under the category of replaceable consumables that wear but which can be economically replaced as needed. Look into a kickstarter campaign. Just don't forget to send me $1 million once you earn your first 10 million. Karma you know.

Through the time when you and your students were using the BOB dummy, I noticed the head part was looking wabbly and squishy every time you strike it.
