    13:45 (about Rolex) 'a humble way to start my journey with Swiss watches' LOL I'd start with a Swiss brand like Tissot, Rolex ain't that humble in my book 😉

    Great collection. Love the Grand Quartz, reminds me of the Grand Seiko 5645-5000, which is kind of unobtainable territory these days.

    Very solid collection good sir! I think I share the exact same sentiments as you when it comes to luxury watch collecting given the current economic climate. Honestly, what I feel extends beyond the usual buyer's guilt. I feel the guilt of owning an watch that most people my age wouldn't even dream of purchasing. I understand everyone has their own hobbies and priorities in life on what they choose to invest their money in, but I think watch enthusiasts like us who don't have tonnes of money to toss at every watch we like have to take our time to justify and budget for each purchase. Lastly, there is absolutely NO problem on anyone's part for choosing to sell a watch to free up cash flow and hold out until a better deal comes along. If anything I feel like you made the smart choice because, like the housing market in Canada (Toronto for me specifically), it is slowly but surely becoming a buyer's market and those who've been patient - will hopefully be able to land on a good deal that we can live with. Keep up the great vids and have a Happy New Year.

      Thanks for the support! Yeah I'm hoping that the economy will bounce back soon and I'll be able to justify some more watch purchases.

    Why not get a Tudor 58 or Pelagos 39? Those are age appropriate and should fit you well.

    That is a complete colection. Diver, sport watch, chronograph, dress watch and digital beater. I prefer to swap the F84 than the A158. but that just me.

      I would like to have a few more swiss watches (Rolex, Hamilton, Tissot) and perhaps a Junghans or a Nomos.

    Great SOTC mate, some unusual pieces Ive never seen. I much prefer watching the collections that are unique rather than the boring Datejust / Submariner / BB58 / Speedmaster SOTCs you see all the time, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with those watches, I've got a Speedmaster on my radar in the near future.

    • @AChannelAboutWatches
      @AChannelAboutWatches  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's been my collection philosophy so far. Why have a collection that looks like everyone else's collection? But at the same time, there's always room for a few iconic pieces.

    That Citizen with red dial.....I think it would look great with a blood red suede strap. Very nice wee collection there.

      I always thought about putting it on a red leather strap, but I just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

    Looking forward to your review of the last Seiko gold watch. Is it a Dolce?

    • @AChannelAboutWatches
      @AChannelAboutWatches  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope, Grand Quartz is its own thing. However, the Grand Quartz I have is similar to the Dolce SACM150.

    Nice to see another watch collector who "bought the dip" when the yen was at a 25-year low! I was able to get into a pink gold Credor during that period which was great, but it also made me disinterested in more affordable Seikos and now I am looking at other Credor models and precious metal cases. Great collection and SOTC video!

    • @AChannelAboutWatches
      @AChannelAboutWatches  ปีที่แล้ว

      Congrats on the credor purchase! Unfortunately, the exchange rate has bounced back from it's dip, which makes me even more hesitant to buy more watches from japan.

    How many times have you had to change the battery on the 1st Casio?

    • @AChannelAboutWatches
      @AChannelAboutWatches  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't had to change it yet. The backlight is still working (apparently it won't turn on when the battery is low) so I think there's still a fair amount of power left.

    I love that small quartz seamaster, wish they still made that model.
