In St. Louis, when you need to know if a tornado is near - look for a large grey thing in the sky sucking up stuff... otherwise ignore the siren. No visit is complete with out a "slinger" for breakfast at Courtesy Diner.
Me and my friends love courtesy. We go there at least once a month at, at least 2am
Only go to shelter if you see it, otherwise just keep eating

Next time check out the Crown Candy Kitchen. They've been around since 1913. They have a "Heart Stopping BLT" that has an entire POUND of bacon!! They also have a 5 malt challenge which would be epic to film.

Another big difference in the West Coast weather as opposed to the Midwestern whether is the density of the air.
I went to SoCal for vacation a few months ago and I didn't notice much of a change until it was when I stepped back out into the Missouri whether from the St. Louis airport. Literally California whether was nice and breezy but then back in the Midwest it was like walking through a soup it was so muggy.

As someone who lived there for years, I applaud you all for showing the real STL. People are too scared to come here and venture beyond their comfort zone, but it is a city with so many hidden treasures that I almost feel guilty letting people in on what we have all known for years.

I recently move away to Florida, but lived in STL for over 40 years. You have literally hit all the perfect places and food. I am actually jealous of this video and my mouth is watering.

yes, If you get a chance to come back, and do want to try ST. Louis style Chinese food, the St. Louis item that we have is called a St. Paul (you may also have to seek a Chinese food place in a black neighborhood for that as well)
Kong Kong express on south grand is the best! The shrimp st.paul, fried chicken wings, and special fried rice is a must. The artist pink caravan did a music video there :)

Left St. Louis almost 40 years ago. The one thing I really miss is the thin crust pizza. Find it so weird how people from elsewhere like thick crust!!!! The best pizza was at Angelo's in Florissant.

You should go to “The Hill” area of town. Highly recommend “Mama’s on the Hill”. Best Italian food ever. We live 150 miles away in Indiana and drive there once or twice a year.

Been living here for 12 years. I can confirm lots of our St. Louis style food is amazing. I really love a couple places in the Delmar Loop. But imos is my most favorite thing ever!
As a Missouri native, I know we don’t always take the storms seriously....but I was SUPER stressed when you guys kept sitting right by the window after the alert lol. Interior room is exactly where I’d be, or at least close. Especially after living 40 mins from Joplin when the big one went through

You can get it in Atlanta but it's not just everywhere like I've heard it is in St. Louis, but if you search for it you can find it.

Sure miss Imo's, have been gone since 1984 or so. My stepdaughter got the ingredients, wrapped the cheese and crust in one box (I thought it was cheesecake). Then another box with sauce & salad dressing. She gave it to me in Atlanta for Christmas, I cried, couldn't believe how thoughtful she was!

IMO’s pizza with just green peppers is like nothing else! Somehow the flavors combine into something completely new.

You have to hit the right Imos though, they all taste different. If you hit the wrong one it may be gross. The one in UCity around Olive and Woodson is gold. I do miss some Imos.

I'm 52, Gus pretzels were sold on the roadside every weekend. My dad would roll down the window when we were at a stoplight ( anywhere in the city ), a guy would run over to the car, and we'd buy them 4 for a dollar in a bag. Imo's, great pizza, but definitely not my fav for toasted Ravs. Go to the Hill in STL for real Italian and meat sauce.
