This song helped me get sober 🙏🏼 it's been a long ride !! I finally got on my knees and begged God to take this addiction and depression away from me .. I can't explain the overwhelming feeling of peace love & happiness I've been praying and searching for my whole life. I finally washed my hands with it & im trusting the process 🙏🏼 he is real !! I pray anyone suffering from addiction and depression & anxiety like I do to give it to God he is the only one who can help save you!! I just found out that I’m one drink away from cirrhosis. I’ve been drinking heavily for the past 15 years on and off. I actually heard this song while I was in the hospital this week detoxing. This is my anthem now. I’m not spending any more of my life wasted! Awesome song!

There's another message here, how much time have we wasted at jobs we hate, relationships we don't have the courage to leave, educations we cut short and excuse as "I'm too old to go back"...I think there's a bigger story here. I learned to love country while living in Calgary Alberta for 15 years. I have been back on Vancouver Island for 5 years now. We just got a country station, so my interest was peeked again. For 20 years I was a high functioning Alcoholic, I spent 3 days day with a nephew who had just been released from rehab, on the way home I bought some whiskey and poured my self a drink as soon as I got in the door, I walked out on the deck and sat for a long while , the tears started to come, and I went into the kitchen and poured the drink down the drain as well as the bottle....I have been sober for almost for years.

This reminds me of seeing my great-grandmother in a hospital bed. She was strong woman till the very end. I was six or seven when she died in the beginning of 2001. Her daughter, my grandma, died when I was six and my brother was 5 in 2000. My brother was either 5 or six when our great-grandma died in 2001. This was just months before 9/11 in 2001 happened. I remember seeing it on the news in 2001. Such a devastating year that year for me.
