The wifi version has great specs for its price despite the marketing lies from Razer and Qualcomm. The argument will always be made for just getting a phone and slapping a kishi v2 to it but I dont like the idea of using my extra phone even for gaming. I like the dedicated gaming idea. My only hope is that Razer gives it quality of life driver updates. Solid review btw
Didn't plan on picking it up for that price but decided to research it just for kicks. Glad to come across your channel in the search! I enjoyed this review a lot!
Devices like the Razer Edge with active cooling are nice for long gaming sessions. The screen and speaker quality on the edge are great and the tablet is genuine nice to view content. I thin a 16:9 aspect ratio would have nicer for emulation. But this device was never marketed for that. If developers ported more indies to android it would be a great travel device
yep. I felt like it's an EXTREMELY premium emulation device, but there are other consoles to do that. It had real horsepower for native games. Maybe they try their hand at a steamdeck type device?
@@SaiyaRanGaming I think this is more angled at the mobile market. Mobile gaming makes more revenue than PC and Console combined. With many eSports competition gaining traction, I wouldnt be surprised if we see more devices like this in the future
@@DoubleTakeJake54 i'm sure that with locking into an overpriced contract plus ten dollars a month for the 5g support etc. these doofs just dont understand money lol. 39 was just an upfront. it would be like man i got this 2023 truck for just 2,000 lol.
@@cryengine_x Your logic just sounds wild🤣 The device is over priced at 599$ for the 5G version. By purchasing from Verizon they immediately take off 260$. I pay 9.99 a month until the remainder is paid off. It’s just using my tablet plan data. My bill went up 10$ a month and I got a cool device 🤣 let me spend my money👍🏼
I have an AYN Odin Pro and this thing is definitely more powerful the only thing I can't get behind is the aspect ratio. If Razor released this with a 16.9 screen I'd be all over it.
@@SaiyaRanGaming If you are a current Verizon customer, you should be able to get it right now for $10/mo for 36 months. I wouldn't pay $600 for it, but $360? I'm all over that shit

Thanks for checking it out bro! Can't wait to see your reviews. Yeah there wasn't much to this, but the haptics are cool! If you're REALLY into haptics then you'll be surprised. I passed it around at my office and the guys loved it until I told them the price lol
Thanks for the insight of this product very helpful. Just a question is it only the price that keeps you away? If the device was only $199.99 would you promote it more?
Great video! Can you actually install Android apps on the expandable memory or does the device treat it as additional storage only? Also, I read that this device doesn't support fast charging when the controller is attached via pass through, but what about when your plugged in directly to the Edge?
Thank you! You can move apps there but can't launch or access them from the SD card. When plugged directly into the Edge, it's slight faster. It supports the full 45W, but its still about an hour 20 to an hour and a half. Not THAT much of a boost.
Nope. that's two xboxs right there. that's rent for some people. I don't mobile game that much. give me a budget phone with 4 gigs of memory and a octacore and I"m good. Hell I'm already running a Razer Kishi V2 off my Moto G play phone that only has 3 gigs of memory. runs like a charm
@SaiyaRan Gaming I decided to look again, it's still in my owned part but it says " your device is not compatible for this game" and I don't think it will get updated for
@@SaiyaRanGaming if u r planning on playing any intensive graphic games on the phone, then I highly suggest you also buy their attachable cooler in order to manage the thermal throttling.
I think many people will get the 5G model cause on promotion it only adds $20 a month to your bill and that's what Razer was hoping for lol I didn't want to review it that way even tho that's how I got it.
This is Millenial/Zoomer-itis lol. These kids are spoiled by growing up with tech us Gen X folks didn’t, so they expect everything to be peaches and cream. The Razer Edge is a beast of a machine that is great for emulation, super great for Android games and cloud gaming. What does my age have to do with any of that? I literally said it was great for emulation just not for the price lol if you want android games or cloud games there are plenty of devices that can do that at half the price.
@@SaiyaRanGaming The edge is $299-$320 a lot on eBay, so the price isn’t a factor. Those other devices don’t have OLED screens. I don’t want to play on a phone because it gets hot and it’s not safe to hold for extended periods.
