- The new 2022 Ford Expedition elevates itself above competitors with new class-exclusive features, plus new capabilities and technologies.
First Timberline series elevates the Expedition above the Jeep Wagoneer with best available ground clearance in its class of 10.6 inches (versus a maximum 10 inches for Jeep Wagoneer), F-150 Raptor underbody protection and best available power in its class.
Ford Expedition Timberline SUV model weighs 4% less than Jeep Wagoneer SUV and boasts a better power-to-weight ratio, as Ford’s high-output 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine tops the Jeep Wagoneer SUV 5.7-liter V8 engine with 48 additional horsepower and 106 more lb.-ft. of torque.
Stealth Edition Performance Package delivers 85 more horsepower and 127 lb.-ft. more torque than Chevrolet Tahoe RST SUV with its 5.3-liter V8 engine.
2022 Ford Expedition SUV equipped with a 3.5-liter GTDI 4x2 has a maximum towing capability of 9,300 pounds, 900 more pounds than the two-wheel-drive Chevrolet Tahoe SUV with 5.3-liter V8 engine, at 8,400 pounds.
With these expanded offerings, the new Ford Expedition SUV is poised to attract new customers who are more culturally diverse than the full-size SUV category has seen in past years, including more women seeking family adventures to balance the stress of their overprogrammed lives.
This expanded lineup brings more personality and design distinction for each series - from Expedition XL to the premium Expedition Platinum, as well as the new Stealth Edition Performance Package and Timberline model - including bolder styling with standard LED headlamps, updated taillamps and new wheel choices. Also, a new twin-spar mesh grille and fog lamps with chrome accents have been added to the Platinum.
The 2022 Ford Expedition is assembled at Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, Kentucky, and will go on sale in the first quarter of 2022.

I like that Stealth Performance Edition. Though I’m not ready to get rid of my ‘16 EL; especially in todays “not for the buyer’s” market. Besides, I’ve got my truck pimped out with Full Race upgrades that I believe will outperform this “Performance Edition”( Putting 410hp & 630lbs per/ft of torque to the ground. So, that’s approximately 470hp & 720lbs per/ft the engine is making at the crank). I’m in the market for the Tesla radio screen… which would definitely be cheaper than me getting that Expedition. Too happy with mine right now to let it go.

Well, we still have our 2000 Expedition after 22 years I’ve recently installed a new engine, transmission, and rear end differential and after spending around $10,000 it’s new again comparing to the new $75,000 Expedition. Don’t get me wrong it’s nice “BUT”.
I did lifters and rollers on my triton engine
I also have a 2000 expedition. Still all original engine, trans, differential, etc at 220,000 miles. Doesn't leak a drop on anything. At 220,000 it still has the factory water pump, A/C compressor, P/S pump and alternator. All I've replaced is the radiator, fuel pump, intake manifold. Besides these things just regular fluid changes, brakes, etc. The 2 valve 5.4 liter is a workhorse. I personally wouldn't buy an Ecoboost truck. Ford should offer a V-8 in the new expedition.

@@jlo3734 LOL, these older SUV's are starting to increase in value. It's definitely worth more than $1k. I'm assuming he wanted to keep the same super reliable platform and putting $10k into would get him many more miles and years of service. A heck of a lot better vs spending $60-$80 thousand on a new one that is not nearly as reliable and the value will depreciate quickly.

I'm pretty sure less than half of the population would be vaccinated if the government wouldn't restrict non-vaccinated people from bars, clubs and restaurants. Instead of staying strong together and don't let the government tell us what to do, people blindly get themselves vaccinated in order to go drinking beer all night at the club. I think it's because they still offer a V-8 naturally aspirated engine. I don't know why Ford only offers the V-6 Ecoboost in the Expedition. I'm a Ford guy and I wouldn't buy one.

It looks like Ford did it again. I heard that they were coming out with a completely different design. They achieved that. I have owned every model year since they first started making them. So it looks like if the dealership is open on Monday I'm going down and ordering another new car.
I hope Ford redesigns their small to medium sized SUVs (except Explorer). They could really use it tbh, I mean if they’re going to focus solely on SUVs and Trucks, might as well make them as attractive as possible. Right now they look meh.

I'll stick with my 04 expedition with the 4.6 l engine , still purring like a kitten 🐾...has 253000 miles on it and still runs and shifts great....
luckily is the 4.6 and not the disaster engine of ford 5.4 Triton 3 valve that came after 2003
Yep i have one too that has 261000 on it and runs like a champ.
I drive a 08 4.6 engine and still drives like the first day we got it, not the best gas mileage but still kicking.

@@jtthedon4230 GM owns the Truck and SUV market in North America. They not only own it, they Dominate the SUV market. Between GMC, Chevrolet and Cadillac, 80% of BOF SUV sales easily. They are the best in the business, by far.

No one does it like a Ford.
I just don't like the new LED headlights look much preferred the previous gen look. They looked much more aggressive imo. Also, not a fan of the dial transmission shifter. Lastly, the huge screen, just doesn't look right in that cabin. The one from the new F-150 would of looked better and not overly huge and out of place.
LOVE the LEDs of the 18-21. The new front end doesn't seem as polished. Plus Ford cheapened it with reflector lights vs projector LEDs. This update just seems to magnify the age of the Expedition, not enhance it. Against the Wagoneer and GM triplets, I just expected more.
Rich on the inside, cheap on the outside.
What about build quality and reliability..?
It's a Ford, absolute crap! I know, I've owned many and worked on even more!
I feel like we are looking at a SUV of the Year montage. I think it will be the stealth and the performance package that takes it.

@@stuartw312000 well but Tahoe and Yukon give you the 6.2 liter engine as options (in addition to 5.3). Even Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are coming out with HEMI 5.7 and 6.4. Ford is really outgunned here, same thing happened with Raptor being outgunned by TRX. I love the Coyote, I wish they would consider it at least as an option like in F150.
I think the v6 with turbo will out pull the coyote.I pull a 28 ft I closed with a super cab up inside just set the cruise control and sit back just awesome.

I hate them vertical screens that above the dash hieght.. Dont like objects in cab of my sight of view. Even at time the steering wheel I have to adjust lower...1998-2003 my favorite year of Expeditions.

I dont like the glass roof that always break. Im okay with the turn knob for a shifter but prefer a actual shifter. I hate the big touch screen with no buttons. I wish car manufacturers would stop doing that or at least offer a option without it. Other then that I like it.

A King....? I'm limo, Uber Black driver from Chicago. Bought that "King" just after releasing. January 2nd 2018. I thank so, - I'm good driver, but I changed almost 35% of that "king" - God blessed me 80% by the extended premium warranty... but - time is money. Fresh transmission, - 10 gears... The car PC can't control - which gear could be in use almost of time - tilting, 126000 miles, guys - right front passenger window - 3000 miles - defected, - changed, water pump 30000 - changed, sit covers 2nd row clips was got out every day- fixed several times - put right now on glue, phasers- 3 times changed already- have to change one more. Transmission calibration was done 4th time.... a/c problem was fix
ed. Engine oil pan, transmission oil pan was changed. Rear park assist eas fixed 5 times!- not working. Turbins were changed- 2! Believe me - I'm careful driver! Catalytic converter and sensors related- needs to change.... transmission shifter sensor was changed.... How do you think guys, - money vs business- Did I get good money with limo business? :))))))

I don’t know I want to like it .I like the side view and the back doesn’t look too bad but I don’t like the front at all. Not a fan of the dash big screen looks like it just put their iPad on there. I still like the Tahoe better and the Denali and of course the Escalade.
