OK, here is my story: had the error codes 1611 or 20 depending; what ended up correcting the issue and unbrick my 1st gen ipod was 1-use windows 7 2-use itunes 11 3-use .ipsw file for ipod1: 1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore

hai. if you happened to have this issue again. kindly download Reiboot for windows and click exit recovery mode. it helps. i did and it worked. dont need to hold down those button
