    Dear Vénérable Nick. I want to thank you so much for letting people see this buddist ceremony. All young men should have this spiritual experience at least for a period of time. It is very formative on the ground of mindfulness, self control. So important for adult life after.

    The steps leading to the ceremony is so interesting. It’s fascinating to notice some of the scars on the heads of those men. “scars of life”. Mmmm. The teachings are beautiful, I think so needed, especially in these current times. I live way out in the country which I love. My life is slower, peaceful. I so appreciate the smells, sounds, and sights on a day to day basis, the calm that is all around me.
    I enjoy viewing the videos. Thank you

      Anyone who are sincere to follow Buddha's footsteps deserves a good holy life. Buddhas are all compassionate heavenly beings. Shakamuni Buddha came to this world because of his love for sentient beings. He wanted to save all beings out of Samsara.

    Some questions:
    - Did you have to learn the Thai language and the Pali language?
    - When there is rainy weather (e.g. during alms round), do the monks use umbrellas, or do their robes just get soaked? During cold weather, do you wear special clothes to keep warm?
    - Can an 18-year-old ordain as a monk or do you just stay novice until you are 20 years old? Can you even join the program at that age?
    - If a bhikkhu breaks one of the precepts, will he be able to keep his monkhood if he admits his mistake? If so, is there a limit to how many times this is possible?

    Hello Nick, I hope you receive my comment in good health. Can you answer my question please? I heard that Budhism is not a religion and Buddha is not God. So why do Monks pray and to whom?

    • @nickkeomahavong01
      @nickkeomahavong01  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Thank you so much. Hope you are doing well. Yes we bow not as an act of worship to a god, but we bow to the buddha to show our deepest respect and gratitude for passing on his teachings. In thailand, children will also bow to parents to show respect. Lay people will bow to monks also. I hope that makes sense. 😊

    how come you are never filmed going through the process of a monks life yourself? Your videos are always about capturing your fellow monks daily habits and routine but never your own? At least from the videos that I have seen so far I haven’t seen you going through any of the Monks routines. Just curious as to Why?

    Hi Nick and thanks for this post; really appreciate seeing the transformation taking place in the men - their faces tell a lot and it was also great seeing these more mature men. I couldn’t help but think why they would travel with so much baggage when the first order of business is to divest one’s life and self of all possessions. It made me think either they didn’t think it through fully or they weren’t properly prepared ahead of time for what was to come. Your messages always force me into deep thinking. 😊 Also, I now have my copy of your book. Thanks 🙏 🙏🙏
