This is certainly a new one for me. I've got a soft spot for these gentle giants. I'd love to see a post-op follow up if they bring him back for another shoeing!
To the several people who are 'hoping he makes it to a vet' - right at the beginning it is made perfectly clear that he's already under a vet and surgery is planned.
Thank you for posting this video, it is always so interesting to watch the shoes being built from scratch. I hope that horse makes it to a vet and hopefully comes back to your facility so we can have a follow up video .
He looks pretty underweight too, I take it that he's been rescued? Hope he gets the care he needs, looks like you did a great job of setting him up for healing.
Sometimes if they're in pain from something like that long enough, their appetite goes off. He could be older, too...sometimes older horses have trouble keeping weight on...
He looked older, and sometimes older horsed have a hard time keeping weight on. His other hooves looked good and same with the uninfected side of his hoof. From what i heard him saying the normal vet was trying to take care of it but now they have to find a specialist which can be difficult
Thanks for such an informative and interesting video. I always learn something significant from you. Too bad I'm 70+ yrs old or I'd do my best to get to Idaho and study Farrier Science at your school. The way you work and your understanding of veterinary requirements of your patients is inspiring. Any horse that crosses your threshold is a really lucky horse.
What a phenomenal job of work .I hope the poor afflicted boy feels the benefit and is able to seen by a vet and have his foot taken care of. Thank you❤
You sir, are an artist! I hope you have a lot of young people to follow in your footsteps. We need to preserve all the useful skills that are slowly going away.
This is amazing to watch. I had no idea what he was planning to do until he almost had it finished. This is a true work of art being able to make something that will truly help this poor horse from a piece of steel. Great work!
Love watching you make the shoes, I find it very relaxing, you're incredible at what you do, beautiful horse, hope he can find comfort and relief, thank you so much, take care guys.👍💙🐎
Wow I’m so impressed with your incredible talent !! So happy to see these big ones getting your help ! I absolutely love these drafts ! Awesome job ! thanks for sharing. Sure wish I could follow his progress.
Wow, the comparison between a regular horseshoe and his was eye-opening. The shoe you created looks like it will work well for him until the vet can perform the needed surgery to get all the necrotic tissue removed. I love your channel. I don't have horses anymore but all the new methods are incredible. God bless you and yours from Yuma Arizona.
Man... With that horses body condition, it has been suffering severe neglect for a long time. Wish yall could work with a rescue, that way neglectful owners could just surrender the animals that they so clearly dont care about.
True artistry. Channel deserves 1M subscribers!😊. PS: Just saw how skinny the horse is in the closing shot. Hopefully when the owners watch this they will realize it as well.
Hope this Mr. Horse feels healthy again soon! ❤ What a great work you did! Thank you very much! What kind of horseshoe will he need, when the vet did his work? Will we be able to watch it?
Why didn't the owner have the problem taken care of when it started? I thought that you are supposed to have a farrier look and take care of a horses hooves every 4 to 6 weeks. Thank you for helping this horse.
Thats amazing what knowledge and talent you have, youre a god send for these poor horses that need special help from people like yourself love watching keep doing the good that you do
You did a great job for the horse and I know he feels better getting the pressure off that side of his hoof and hope the vet can do what he needs to do and get him well.

Same!
It's always a pleasure to watch a Craftsman at work what a gorgeous horse so hope they can get a vet to help and I hope we can get an update .
To the several people who are 'hoping he makes it to a vet' - right at the beginning it is made perfectly clear that he's already under a vet and surgery is planned.
I mean the guy said multiple times in the video he 'hopes' they can get him to a vet for surgery
Hopes, hopes….not he IS going to a vet
One might also infer from the title, as a farrier may not diagnose. This was to make sure the horse was seen by a vet
@@snowa5558 he’s under the care of his regular vet, who diagnosed the issue, but they are trying to find a specialist to operate.
He said. "Gunna do surgery "@@CNob2492
That shoe is a work of Art, amazing!👊
It's absolutely amazing what y'all do for horses... any ailment, any injury... you got a shoe for that! Awesome to watch you work!
