    Wow, this tutorial was perfect. Thank you very much.
    I'm trying to learn how to make trance and I have the beginnings of a good track but I'm struggling with how to make it sound more natural and less wooden and with choosing the right instruments. This tutorial answered both questions and gave me more info about chords (tbh I'd kind of worked it out already but having it explained really helped).
    I hope you have similar guides on basslines and percussion 👍

Thanks, I will be keen to see what else you can teach me. On the plus side, you operate on cubase too.

    Great tutorial and the way of explaining how to get the right sound while still showing that there can be trial and error.👍
    The more complex pad chords kinda sound like Avicii Silhouettes chords.😂

  • @simonminay5177
    @simonminay5177 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I really love how you turned that riff into something better. You mentioned the scale of C but yet we aren't in C here, because of the blatant F#....so it's modal C ( since the riff seems to be rooted on C, the F# suggests modality because it's trying to move to G major) Maybe I'm just being anal. But which mode is it then? ...Aeolion? I'm honestly very unsure about this myself. Great video though, I really enjoyed the reinvention :-)

    • @demishellen
      @demishellen  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did not go into the details just based on my time on the video. I am trying to not too bogged down with theory as other channels cover this better than I can. However it is necessary to cover it in certain aspects to help get the point across.

    • @theanalogkidmodular
      @theanalogkidmodular 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It C Lydian - the sharp 4th (F#) is the giveaway. So 4th mode of G major.

    I always wonder why you copy most effects (Reverbs etc)
    and don't work with sends
    Or is this just for simplicity?
    as with bigger projects I got serious VST performance issues if I won't use sends

    • @demishellen
      @demishellen  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Tbh I just copy them during the tutorials for ease. I use sends but set them up later on. However a sometimes I want different reverb settings to create a unique space in the mix.
