How to Backup and Restore Your Samsung Smartphone on One Ui 2.0 (Note 10, Note 9, S10, S9 and more)

- In this video, I will show you how to Backup and Restore your Samsung Smartphone such as the Galaxy Note 10 Plus, Galaxy Note 9, S10 Plus and more.
Backing up the data on your smartphone is really important in case you lose your smartphone, it breaks, or you get a new samsung smartphone.
In this video, I am using a Galaxy Note 10 Plus for demonstration which is running One Ui 2.0 with Android 10.

Will the data restored is with original date like for images and videos with original date
There is a somewhat convoluted method to add Samsung Cloud backup (such as shown here) to Verizon phones. It is mentioned in XDA developers for the S8. However when accessing the needed Cloud App which is missing from Verizon phones, there is a newer version than the one listed for the S8. Under the download area look for version 4.
Also, the app name when making the icon needed to access the installed features is Samsung Cloud.
Do you have the option of Samsung Cloud if you are on Verizon? I did not have a Samsung option under back up and restore.

That was an informative video, but you missed one other feature on the 'Backup and restore' page. The last section on the bottom, below the Google account section, is the 'External storage transfer'. In there, you have the option to perform a full backup to either the internal MicroSD card or an attached USB stick. There is a limit of 256GB in size that can be detected and read, but that should be enough for most people. Later Samsungs won't have the MicroSD slot, but the USB attached storage would still be an option, and the capacity limit may be higher.
I have been using my Note 9 for 5.5 years, and I have only accumulated on my internal 128 GB storage and my slotted MicroSD storage a total of about 80 GB. That includes all of the data from the iPhone 6s+ that proceeded it, and a recent full backup of my SOC onto the MicroSD card. Once the backup has been made to the external storage, just like the MicroSD card, it can all be copied to a folder on a computer. Of course, the computer gets backed up also, which gives me a total of three copies of my backup, all local to my residence.
So, will successive backups use up new space on samsung cloud, or are old backups overwritten when you back up again?

Great video! Thanks as always for fantastic tips! Do you know a way to add the missing Samsung Cloud option within Backup and Restore? I've been reading and wasn't aware until now of Verizon disabling it. Some posts around say they got it back but none say how.
That's why I'm trying to figure out, too. I bought a used S9. Trying to disable google and use Samsung, but it only gives the option of logging into google even tho I just removed it from my phone.
Same spot I’m in now. I reset S21 on Verizon. But don’t have Samsung cloud. I just had google backup and now I’m missing lots of Samsung stuff 😑

I'm new to Android, with regards to the home screen back up, I use nova launcher, will have to back that up in nova or does it do it on the Samsung back up?
Hi. Better to take a backup in Nova launcher to be sure.
Incredible that in the Backup settings you completely ignored the 3rd very useful option -- backup to External Storage (ie, USB drive, desktop PC, etc). SMH.

Thanks. That was what I was looking for. I have to get my Note 9 charging port replaced and Samsung told me that I need to backup everything because the phone will be restored to factory settings after repair. Can I just buy a 512gb sd card and back up the whole phone to that?
@@LEMON48 What will you do if your external storage dies or your phone is lost/stolen? SD card inside your phone wont help much there.

6:39 I am on Samsung Note 10. When I tap on Samsung Cloud, I don't see the cloud storage status as shown here. Instead I just see apps that are synced to the cloud storage. Am I missing something?

The note 10 plus looks good just in case it breaks or getting a new phone 📱
It would more beneficial if you could completely wipe the software from the phone & install a new version like with Apple products (which is one of the things that makes Apple better).
If you have a rooted phone with a custom recovery installed, you can backup your entire phone to 1 file and store it anywhere. Which is a lot more efficient than this method which is for people who can't root or don't want to.
I can back up all my stuff to the google drive then factory reset my phine then go to my google account to restore. I cannot hook into my android auto, my car is not seeing thenphone. My wifes phone works flawlessly but my S10 plus wont.

Was that a gmail account? If yes then on both phone sync option was enabled and because of that when you gave your username and password, your contacts got mixed with the other persons phone. To fix that i would recommend to remove the account from other persons phone or select his her main account in phone to sync and not yours, you probably have select the option gmail account as your default storage for your contacts to check that go to contacts application then settings and select default location there you will find which option you have selected for storing contacts.
