Hello friends, thanks for all the support 👍🏻👍🏻 As this was my first video on this channel I was bit nervous and also have made some mistakes, and many of them have also complainted that ups has very less backup. So I was thinking to recreate this video with better version. So should I make a new version of this 12v ups?? Do comment your opinion here👇🏼👇🏼
All the very best. 💐 You have talent to create employment. Battery indicator can be replaced with modern led. Can you create one with compact design and with led indicator. I can support for one video. Rest TH-cam viewers will take care.
I understand now what you use each component for - BMS is for charging and balancing battery pack. MT3608 "booster" is to regulate output of battery to router. So peak voltage of battery pack (fully charged, no load) is 4.2x3= 12.6VDC. When charging, this voltage could be higher - thus the output regulator (booster) is necessary. Input diode is to prevent voltage backfeeding to power supply. Voltage drop of .2VDC through diode should be fine, since most "12V" power supplies are between 11.8-13.8VDC, depending on construction. Thank you for the diagram at the end, and for making this video!
I'm currently connecting a 3S2P battery with a 40A Balance BMS to the router and charging it with a 12V 1A charger. I'm doing this because I want to make it easier and not have to disconnect the battery and connect the charger all the time. So, the question now is: 1- Is there any harm to the battery over time since it is always connected to the charger, given that the charger only disconnects during a two-hour power cut each day? 2- I know the battery doesn't charge to 100% because the adapter's voltage is less than 12.6V, but after charging, does the battery go into an idle state and the power draw is from the adapter, or is it still drawing from the battery? I'm awaiting your response as soon as possible, and please, if you have any notes that can help me, I'd be very grateful.
Can you please sent me the circuit diagram? Actually I've tried same thing. BMS worked perfectly first time but after than it stopped giving any output. I've searched it in internet and found it as a common issue. Experts say that single BMS can not work for a UPS. Need more circuit. Can you please help me with this one??
There are a number of issues with this design, 1st the input power supply needs to be powerful enough to not just power the output device but also be powerful enough to charge the batteries, also the bms needs a constant current so the input power cannot be just any old charger unless you want serious issues, also if the input power supply is not up to the job then the batteries will just drain so when you need them in a power cut they will be dead
Let me make a suggestion. What if you consider using a power supply that you know can provide the amperage of the device that you want to connect to the UPS and also almost the max amperage needed for the bms? Now it will be able to both power the device and also the bms which have an over charge protection and in my knowledge can accept a wide range of amperes as is the bms of a smartphone battery that can either charge in my occasion with a 5V 1A all the way to 5V 2A without any problem, just with a difference in speed. Also I'm interested if you have another circuit/solution in mind.
Battery in your video is constantly charging and discharging. Not good. It should have by pass mode like real ups, when battery is full , energy fro 12v source go directly to the router

How this will charge the battery when the input power is same as output? There should be 2x the input power in order to keep the battery charging and running router.
I have a question, if you insert into the input jack 12v power supply, why do you need the MT3608 to step up voltage if the output is also 12v? What is the reason for the MT3608 to be in the circuit please?
The main reason to use mt3608 is the battery pack, When there is a power cut off, the battery pack provides power to the router and it gets discharge, so the voltage decreases and router will shut down in 5-10 mins. so mt3608 (set to 12v) will keep the voltage stable at 12v even if the battery reaches its lowest discharge point (10.5v) And while power supply is active the mt3608 will not get an effect as its input and output are same it will it continuously feed 12v output.
