This the best video yet , checked many here of ups for router, marked improvement form the earlier videos : THERE IS A FLAW ?? 1). the battery will not stop charging, when full, there is no relay to stop or start charging ( hence NO PROTECTION) 2). There should be auto changeover to battery incase of power failure. how will you pls incorporate into the circuit, is possible to put all this into one single pcb ...thanks of
How could i connect a d1 mini to send a notification if the main power goes out (and therefore the router is running on batteries)? Thanks and great job 👏👏

hi!!!!! I would do anything like your ups ,but i' need in the output 2,5 amp for the router and 3 amps for a mini pc (web server) at 12v both but their real wattage rarely exceds 30W and they are normally at 20w . i'm think that uses BMS 3S (3x(2 or maybe 3 CELL 3000mah ) searching an autonomy of 3h ) and i have 3 xl 4015
It's possible that apply your 2X2 model changing the xl 6019 at the output by one xl 4015 at 12V@3A to serve both devices? or two xl 4015 one for router at 2,5 A an another for minipc at 3A??
The XL 4015 at the input what is the high Amperes that i can put for fast charge and ? the power source its the source of minipc 12V at 3A

You shoud connect relay for long backup
If you off the switch, the current from battery will flow to +ve of xl4015 output then to input wire then to 12v output. You need to modify the switch connection.

What is the best configuration for 12V battery, 2S, 3S or 4S. even at cut off voltage at 3.0V, 4S gives 12V. Appreciate your view. Thank you.

Sir I have two doubts please reply. I ordered everything and waiting for your reply.
1. My router is of 1.5ampere should I tune the buck converter to 1.5 ampere instead of 2 ampere.
2. I have wifi router charger using which I tried to tune the buck converter and I am able to set the volts to 8.36 but when I tried to set the amperes I'm not receiving enough amperes from wifi charger it's not crossing 1 ampere also. In this case for setting the ampere should I purchase another charger of 12v /3 ampere or can I use the same wifi charger of 12v/ 1.5 ampere charger.

I don't understand why you didn't use a battery holder. That also bypasses doing anything to the batteries, and makes it to where you can swap out the batteries...

What is the purpose of the voltmeter , the bms will ensure the battery is at optimum voltage so how will it help to know the battery voltage , I would suggest an LED indicator and buzzer combo to indicate a low battery

Voltmeters shows battery voltage, hence the SOC (State Of Charge) can be known. BMS does NOT do battery level indication.

Yes, bms 2s is useless for me doesnt work, many trouble, i used bms 3s for ups router, bms 2s is not recomended

Can you make our existing circuit with solar power with normal electricity charger also.
Case1 : when sun is there powerbank will run on solar pannel
Case 2 : when sun is not there or low solar power it will shift to 12volt adapter power
Case 3 : when solar and adapter power is absent it will shift to charged batteries.
Everything should be automatic.

Most of the components probably cost less than 20-30 bucks...minus those batteries...you can use recycled but they are not as good as those he used

In version 3.0 you have added a diode in the output of xl6019 and connected that with the input positive diode of xl4015 why pls say the reason
I was thinking to prevent power from the adapter from flowing to the output side of the xl6019 and to prevent power from the xl6019 from returning to the adapter.

please let us know how to implement Over charge protection for this UPS, I want to always keep connected 12V adaptor , and do not want to remove the 12V adaptor form this setup !
I am using the V3.0 from the last lockdown, always plug in to supply. No problem still now.
The 2S BMS (battery management system) handles the overcharge/overdischarge voltage...plus it keeps the batteries balanced
The batteries he used also have battery protection circuits already on them (they are a little longer than unprotected 18650's)

BMS board are factory locked. Connect to a power source first, then it will be unlocked and you will see the voltage. It is required only once

Connect two dc jacks at the output of the boost converter.

In short, battery capacity and size. The first one is a 1-cell design, the second is a 2-cell design, and the last one is a 4-cell design.

Then, put it on 24x7. I.e. charging + using when there is power. It should switch to auto when there is no power. Any idea

Why not using 3s of 18650 instead, wtih 3s BMS. Then you don't need boost converter. You can connect 12v power to BMS, parallel to 12v out for supplying the load. This way, when the power from line is on, it will supply power for the load but in parallel charge the battery through bms. When power is off, the battery will take over because it is connected in parallel with 12v out via BMS.
Thank you for your suggestion.The problem in when we will not use the boost converter is that, the Router will not work when battery pack gets discharged to a certain level. That means we will not able to use the full capacity of the battery pack.

Your ups sir constantly charging and discharging the battery, that's not good it should have by pass mode
No worries, the BMS protects the cells from overcharging. It will cut the charging if batteries are fully charged.
