    Hope you go back to Magnetic Island so much more for you to see and explore. Scuba Diving around Radical Bay is beautiful.

    Another fabulous episode, and another place to add to our Bucket List.
    We thought we’d seen a lot of our beautiful country, but you guys are showing us how much more there is to see, and making us want to hit the road again.
    Amazing photography once again, and lovely relaxed, informative commentary. You should definitely be snapped up by Getaway, Queensland Tourism, or the like.
    Thank you for taking us along on your big maventure. We’re loving it. Miss you both 😘😘

    Loved your video guys enjoying yourselves on this beautiful island. My husband and I stayed on the island for a week on Horseshoe Bay and it was still not long enough. I agree with you that there is so much to explore. GO BACK AND ENJOY. GREAT PLACE TO CHILL OUT. I took some videos of different parts of the island and will return.

    Just back from a few days on the island. Absolutely loved it.
    There is a previous comment suggesting that this place is only suitable for backpackers and you can”do” it in a few hours.
    Completely, utterly wrong.
    There is accommodation to suite all tastes and I’d suggest spending as long as possible to blend into the pace of island life.

    They spent more time talking than actually telling us to expect

    "Could spend a year here". Well we spent six months here in the middle 1950s when there was no electricity or running water. And the "road" was at best a dirt track. But where the beaches were unspoiled. There were plenty of tiger sharks so you only swam in shark proof enclosures. Yet after more than 60 years I can remember so much of what it WAS. Alas it has changed so much that I don't know if I would recognise any of it now.

    Now that Horse Shoe Bay 27 years ago I was there, I stayed 5 weeks on the Island, there was a really eccentric guy called Bob who lived on a houseboat catamaran, you can see him if you type in bob magnetic island, and would moor off Horse Shoe Bay, great character not every bodys cuppa tea, but I thought he was great, now opposite where you climbed I climbed, and remember going up between the giant boulders just at the top one last push, bit of an extreme climb stood up straight, bloody great big spider, right in my face did not look friendly, so I backed off and went under the web, that was interesting, my girlfriend at the time was back at the lodge unaware, great place Magnetic Island, I remember the owners of the yachts would invite us on board to have dinner, they would get drunk at the bar, such an adventure Australia enjoy I'm sure you are

      Can I ask you a question would you believe it if someone traveled from Sydney to magnetic island bungalow bay Didn’t go anywhere not even to the beach in 4 days didn’t see any animals other than a rainbow lorikeet it was around the same time you where there lol

    • @paulbutterworthbillericay
      @paulbutterworthbillericay 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stevemoncaster2560 Well I do remember this fella drinking at the bar, dressed not like a typical back packer but more of a biker type, me and my girlfriend got chatting bloke was a top bloke invited us to a bike rally on the mainland, which we went to was a blast,,can't be the same guy can it???

    • @stevemoncaster2560
      @stevemoncaster2560 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was my partner Lyn went with a group from Richmond air base. All I was asking is it possible in your opinion to stay at horseshoe bay and not go near a beach or not see any Koala’s or anything do you remember the party games they had back then thanks

    • @paulbutterworthbillericay
      @paulbutterworthbillericay 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stevemoncaster2560 lol I never saw any koala bears, well I guess the beach is a personal thing, yes do remember lots of drinking around where I stayed, in a back packers lodge, I worked there for free lodgings, I remember a lot of folk with sailing boats would come in to have a drink & socialise, Bob had the house boat, but there were many other blokes who lived on there boats, I have watched videos now it looks the same on the nature side all the best

    • @stevemoncaster2560
      @stevemoncaster2560 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you suggest to hire car on the island or bring your own?

    • @KendallandGlenn
      @KendallandGlenn  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe taking your own is very expensive so we just decided to hire.

    • @peterhoare3219

      Get a Mini Moke....the place is FULL of them. Perfect transport.
      You will NOT regret going there. It's gorgeous. Been there TONS since the 70s, I'm 57, haven't been back in a long while.
      DONT go in cyclone season (October to March)
      They fucking ain't fucking fun.

    If I understand to this video well, Magnetic Island is just for back packers: to bring all food and drinks/water from mainland, "toilet" only in nature, no way to have a shower there. For non back packers: better to use helicopter shuttle and after 2 hours on the beach to fly back to have shower and recover from dehydratation.

    • @peterhoare3219
      @peterhoare3219 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's one of the most beautiful places you could visit. Rival anything in the world. And it has modern facilities.
      Been going there since the 70s and I'm 57.
      Just watch cyclone season.....🤯
