I went in June for my daughter's 21st birthday to Maggie Island. She lives in Townsville and is studying to be a veterinary surgeon there. Magnificent place Maggie.
Well done , you have done a great job . I love going around the island in my boat but haven't gone ashore for years ! As a local we tend to take it for granted i think. All the best mate.
Thank you mate! Yeah, it's easy to become used to what's around you. It really is a spectacular little island. I can imagine you also see more hidden beaches and coves on the boat too?
The main reason Maggie island is one of the best places to spot koalas is due to the trees not being as tall. Koalas spend most of their time sleeping in the trees and most trees on Maggie island are short and that makes it easy to spot them sleeping.
Thanks for sharing this Justin! Four of us are planning to stay on the island for 3/4 nights in November as part of our trip. We won’t have a car so scooters look great! Thinking of getting an Airbnb in Nelly Bay. Is it a good option for exploring?
Yeah that sounds like a great plan! Nelly bay is the perfect base for exploring Magnetic island, a couple of scooters and you'll be having a great time!
Mate this is really good advice and well put together thanks ! I arrive in March and I'm thinking how many clothes to bring lol did you pack light or take a lot of t shirts ect
Hey! I brought a lot of T-shirts with me, like 8/9 but I wanted to have plenty. You could get by with less and just do more laundry. Thanks for the kind words, have an awesome trip!

You hold a snake 😮😮😮😮
Haha yes! I love snakes 🐍
Do you know that cane toads spit poison that can make dogs blind? I wouldnt be kissing them
Does anyone know if it's worth it to snorkel there?
Yer I got some cool shots - if you go out in a boat Tour you will get to snorkel on old reefs - depending on how clear the water is on the day.
@@DarkCityProductions thank you!
