  • Welcome back everyone,
In this episode we explore Cairns while we wait for our car to get repaired from the breakdown in our last video...... We find waterholes, waterfalls and do the Skyrail to the rainforest village of Kuranda!
We then head down the coast to Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays and show you some great places to check out and stay a while!! It's an Epic coastline and we reckon you'll love a few of these hidden gems.
Enjoy & we'd love to hear your feedback!!
    Cheers - Justin & Bec

Our most watched Episode - z • BEACH CAMPS ON THE NIN...
    It all started when…
In December 2015 we packed up and hit the road for what we thought would be a 12 month Lap of Oz. Fast forward 4 years and we decided to create a video series of our travels to show you all what it’s like to live life on the road!!

Palm Cove caravan park north of Cairns is probably half the price per night compared to ‘Coconut’ but not as much fun for the youngsters. Great fishing off of the jetty and heaps of restaurants all in walking distance. Love the show guys!

You wanna be really, really careful at the Boulders and Josephine falls. Go uphill at both and the highest point behind them is Bellenden Kerr. This mountain has a weather station on top. It's record for rainfall in one 12 month period since it was installed in the 1950s? 12.4 meters. So you can be down at the falls just chilling, unaware that 4km away up on top of the hill 100cm of rain has just fallen in the last 2 hours. When that rainfall flows down hill, Josephine falls can go from a nice little swimming hole to a raging torent in about 10 minutes. If you're not paying attention and the water starts to rise, you could become one of the dozens of people each year who get stranded on the far side of the creek who have to be airlifted out. People have died there. Not as many who die at the boulders, but still, be really careful if you're taking kids in there. If the water starts to rise or starts to get murky, get out, get up the rocks and back on the paths. Tell anyone else who is there they need to move because a flash flood is coming.
As for the Boulders? There's a really lovely swimming hole about 30m from the carpark. Swim there. We've lost clearance divers, US navy seals, lifesavers, and more tourists than you can poke a stick at. What did they do wrong? Well they walked down the walking track to the lookout overlooking the devil's pool. Then they decided they wanted to climb over the fence and jump into the pool at the bottom of the falls. Some time between 4 and 30 days later, their body is found. Depends on what time of year it is as to how long it takes to recover them. This is my back yard. Treat her with respect or you'll be burying someone you love quicker than you can spit.

Finally had 5 mins to myself to watch this episode. Although I've been to most of those places a number of years ago, it's great following your epic journey and what a beautiful Country we live in - North, East, South and West....we're pretty lucky (the last few months have been difficult and it's great to see the global support we've received). I don't think there's any reason to think that you don't talk enough during the episodes Bec, you guys share the chatter well to bring us your stories which is great. Lastly, nibble pie?? never heard party pies called that - Bec, are you one of these Victorians that swam from Tassie? haha PS love the long episodes!

It's always been a favourite part of the coastline of mine when I lived up they way for so long,...except for the fact that you can rarely enter the bloody water - it's seasonal I know but I couldn't trust it. Unless you're wearing a full lycra suit or swim in the exclosures. Such drag for such beautiful part of the country. The diving off shore is fantastic of course with the GBR and all the shipwrecks! However, Give me the south coast and let me loose. Are you guys going to do the region around Maroochydore, etc. It is really nice too. Look out for Sarina, Tin Can Bay, Rainbow beach, etc. on your way down.

@@jenniferthorne6464 Nibble pies are a western way of speaking. WHEN it comes to meat pies in south-west Victoria, it's a party on one side of the Stony Rises and nibble-by-nibble approach on the other. The humble party pie is referred to most in the region as a nibble pie, although the origins of the phrase are unclear.Jan 30, 2019
