Luckier than one of my trips to Denmark, I was in Aarhus when a hurricane force storm arrived; the local airport was closed so I had to get my Danish colleague to drive me to Copenhagen. Whilst crossing the Great Belt bridge, all the lights went red and all the traffic stopped on the bridge; after about 30 minutes the police arrived and told us to move on and clear the bridge which had been closed due to the storm. I eventually arrived at Copenhagen airport in time for my flight home, only for the flights to be cancelled due to the storm. I managed to find a comfy seat in the business lounge and get some food and drink until an alarm sounded at about 11:30 pm and we had to clear the lounge, as they were concerned a tower crane may topple over onto the lounge. I spent the rest of the night perched on a very uncomfortable bar stool in a cafe; in the morning I found the alarm was actually a false alarm and they had let everyone back into the business lounge about 10 minutes after kicking us out!

Billund is weird. It basically only exists because of Lego and has been hard to integrate otherwise. The location doesn't geographically make sense for Aarhus and locals are adverse to public transport anyway, so most people are only mildly upset at having to drive to the airport and leave their cars there. Otherwise most international tourists fly to Copenhagen and stay there or take the train directly to the bigger towns, skipping Billund completely.
