The balance shaft caps are labeled n the top A B C a is the front closest to radiator and c is the rear. Also set engine to top dead. Match the links on each chain up with the marks on the cam gears. And gear on crank.
So I’m about to take the heads off of a 2013 6.8 the service info says to set the crank at 12 and take the balance shaft off before removing the head. I’m thinking I can just line up all the timing marks and pull the chains and pull it off as a whole assembly. Any thoughts? Once I have the chains off that cam shouldn’t move at all. I’ve done several timing systems before but never on a ford.
The only thing I would add, and this applies to a lot of things, is to give it a wash down before teardown.. At least you don't get as dirty working on things..! Otherwise, great videos!
Now I know why these V10 trucks r a dime a dozen. I was going to buy one, but not now. People gotta be out of their mind to ever buy a Ford truck... Overall I feel u should of just pulled the engine out and put a new crate motor in it. I will stick with my Toyotas and Chevys
Phenomenal content. Very informative, going through things step by step, pointing out all the specifics...thank you
Hey thanks for the comment! 👍
Don't need to teach this guy about perseverance; he's got plenty.
Massive mechanical talent! Great vid now if I can do it...

@@MarkBaltikauski-rk6mu I have a customer that will always wash his engine before I come work on it. It's nice when things are clean 🙂

They all need new head gaskets eventually.
