Great video. One suggestion. In my experience it is better to have the water connection pointing up and adding a ref-plane to control the distance from the back of fixture to the center of the wall (4'' wall, 6'' wall etc.). Makes working in Plan View and auto-connecting easier. I also put a P-Trap in the "generic" sink model and define the WSFUs (etc.). I am sure you want to keep this simple and to the point; and this was a great video. These are only suggestions for your future videos. Keep up the great work. Cheers.
Completely agree about the connection pointing up. I think having both options might be good since one would work better for water connections from the ceiling and the other for connections in the wall. Two types would give lots more flexibility. Love the feedback. Don't ever hesitate commenting. I love to learn new things!
Great explanation MEP guy. Do you have a video showing how to use fixtures from manufacturers and implementing the look up tables? (specifically pumps) I hope you make one like that. great JOB!
I love the idea of this fixture. Only issue I can see is when you make an isometric there isnt any p-trap showing. You could make a fake p-trap thats an extrusion you can control the depth of and that you dont turn off with the visibility toggle. Any ideas on a better option?
Ahhhh, very good point Hunter. I've seen it done a couple different ways. I've seen it done the way you are suggesting. You can actually just throw in an actual p-trap fittings "nested" inside that family and control the visibility to display in Fine level of detail only. You can do an extrusion as well. Second Option would be to put the sanitary connector on the bottom of the custom fixture and actually draw piping with a p-trap to the bottom connection as it would be done in the real world. I just didn't want to add any more time to this video since it was already pretty long. But very good point. I'd always recommend when you are modeling or producing design documents that you always try to find the simplest and easiest way to portray the information. A simple note stating "Contractor shall provide P-Traps on all drains and fixtures without integral traps per IPC" might be the easiest way to getting around showing P-Traps in general. But I'll leave that up to you and your company ;)
Hi actually could you please make plumbing design videos on one project in REVIT according to IPC standards. So it would be great and more interesting..pls consider it.
I sure can! I actually just got asked by another subscriber for the same type of video. It's going to be a Plumbing 101 video. I'll go over the entire plumbing system and review everything you need to know according to IPC. Thanks for the idea!
Well Satish...I decided to give you the course for free. I really appreciate all the comments and likes you gave my videos. Log into mepguy.com and you should have access to plumbing 101. Thanks again!
you could just use two of these fixtures next to each other. I'll be doing a course very soon on how to work with fixtures. You can also create a double fixture with a single connection point that has twice as many fixture units.
Should be pretty strait forward. It should ask for you to create a teachable account with username password and email. But yes, I'm still working on the site. Hope to have some really good content on there soon. But my other users didn't seem to have any issues. Are you still not able to get on?
@@joecincoify Do you mean the use of legend views within Revit? Or do you want my advice on how to create a legend for your cover sheet with abbreviations and symbols. Different people use the term legend differently. Let me know and I'll be sure to include it in one of my next videos.

How can i get your customized plumbing fixtures?
You can get them on my website. They comes with my Plumbing 201 course. MEPguy.com
How about double lavatory? How do connect the fixture unit?
you could just use two of these fixtures next to each other. I'll be doing a course very soon on how to work with fixtures. You can also create a double fixture with a single connection point that has twice as many fixture units.
Just visited your website, tried to log in and become a member, didn't see how to do that, you're probably in the middle of developing it?
