Billy Joel has so many great songs. Incredible song writer. We Didn't Start The Fire. An Innocent Man. Honesty. Leave A Tender Moment Alone. Only The Good Die Young. Big Shot. It's Still Rock And Roll. Uptown Girl. Allentown.
I was a huge Billy Joel fan way back in the 1980's. Listened to his music until I was sick of it and needed a break😅😂 His poetry is amazing.❤️ Another similar artist was Chris De Burgh.❤️ Excellent voice and poetry too. 🥰🥰Many hugs from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦
You have to react to Sissel Kyrkjebø performing "Always On My Mind". She is the national treasure of Norway and her voice is gorgeous. Sissel performed on the soundtrack to movies like Titanic and Lord Of The Rings.
Grab a copy of the Elton John album '11-17-70', and listen to how bassist Dee Murray plays. Originally the Elton John band was a trio, with Elton, Murray, and Nigel Olsson on drums (and Murray and Olsson singing backing vocals). All three were incredible, and Olsson and Murray became the backbone of Elton's band when Elton catapulted to stardom. Murray's style (imo) was odd but brilliant. Definitely something to listen to as a young bassist. Murray and Olsson together were (again imo) one of the best rhythm sections in music history.
This is the "for video" version. The original version is still out there, but less popular. The bar is more "british" , and Billy actually does play the harmonica during the performance. You might want to look at it for comparison, if nothing else.
@@eddybassreacts Dee's baseline is great here. Yeah I think a lot of younger people that only know of Elton from movie soundtracks and react to videos have this skewed view on his music, thinking he was a balladeer when it wasn't the case.

Wow awesome, loved every bit of the sound I heard.
Billy Joel wrote this song after he and his record company were in a dispute. He went to LA for 6 months and played under the name Bill Martin.
Oh 😮

This is an autobiographical remembrance of his time work working as the piano man in a bar in L after his first album did not do so well.
