Very sad about the enigmatic position. I've been doing great with it but I am sure you're right. The deck just feels weaker than it used to be. I'll still love it forever though
I respect not having any decks in S tier, I find a lot of tier lists start with the “best stuff” in S and go down from there. Do you think no S tier decks is a sign of a healthy metagame? Cheers!
I think it's two things: 1) There's clearly 2 best decks way ahead of everyone else, but 2) other decks are still winning at high level events and have strong matchups into the top decks to keep the winner's metagame diverse. It'd be reasonable to put both vamps and Phoenix in S tier based on their play rate, but neither has been head and shoulders above the other and I really want to use S tier a little more to mean problematic moreso than just best here.
Unfortunately, the deck hasn't been showing up much of late. Amalia being a strong deck along with a lot of midrange at the top tables seems to have slowed its momentum. Hopefully it'll make it back into the tier list again soon.
Hanging out in FNM tier right now. Hopefully it can find some more success this season, but it doesn't pick on the top decks like it did a few seasons ago.

The joy of Magic is winning with your pet deck even when it isn't well positioned. That's led to many people's success over the years.

Is Rakdos Midrange still good?
No, play Vampires instead. It plays all the same cards with a much more explosive package of cards.
