    Tesla & Brammo - this future!

    They always miss the point in these reviews!! With less than 10 solar pannels on your roof you can run for free and with zero emission!! That is the most important!!! Nearly no maintenance and most important if everybody would ride or drive an Ev we wouldn't have to fight every war in every shitty country !! Imagine how many charging points we could built with the money spent on these wars ......

      You do know it’s devasting to get the materials needed for EVs right

    No, the Zero, like every other EV I know of, has no clutch or gear shift. This has been touted (by myself as well) as one of the big advantages of EV over ICE - practically no moving parts to malfunction or maintain.
    Watching the Motorcycle magazine shootout at akgNW74qOYo, I'm not so sure anymore. It seems like a multi-gear transmission might have an advantage.
    The Zero looks like a more practical bike though. Do they make bags for the Brammo?
    It's at least another year before I get either.

    thank you for correcting me. i was almost sure they still had a clutch, makes sense now though. i still think a multi-gear transmission would have an advantage

    Liquid cooled, and a gear box it's a winner if they can sort out the battery life or speed of charge or some method to charge without using mains power.
    As a town bike great, as a motorway road ok so long as you don't want to go far.
    But overall it's a great bike, now the crunch what's the price?

    Battery cost? Has it dropped from $42,000?
    I have a friend that has an older one of these that he discharged the batteries on the advice of someone on a blog it said the batteries will give him more range if they completely discharged between charges. That actually ruined the battery, according to the factory tech-support guys. But $42,000 for a new battery??
    My friend also has many gasoline powered motorcycles. He Putz around town on the electric, and goes to bike night gatherings and it’s a novelty that always gathers a crowd..
    But when he goes riding with his friends, he takes one of his gasoline powered motorcycles. Because he can only go about 50 to 60 miles away from home and that charging cord before he hast to turn around and barely make it home on battery charge. 50 to 60 miles on a Sunday morning with a group of his motorcycle buddies, that’s an hour maybe an hour and a half of riding, and then he hast to turn around. On Sunday, sometimes we cover 700 miles. We average about 300 to 400 miles on a Sunday ride. It all depends if we do back roads, or interstate.
    Our annual ride down to Daytona for bike week is out of the question on his electric.. three day weekend rides from Erie Pennsylvania to Virginia Beach or Ocean City are also out of the question on his electric..
    He can’t take his wife, and a weekends worth of clothing, for different temperatures, a rain suit, all the essentials you have to carry like things to plug a flat tire, water, tools, because there are no saddlebags, and no faring to deflect the rain, the bugs, and the worst of all, the wind especially if it’s cold. My friend will ride his BMW sport touring machine that has all the capacity and protection he and his wife need and they can carry all the stuff they will need for a three day weekend in the bags in the trunk.
    The electric motorcycle definitely has a niche for the guy that Pats around town, but it doesn’t have the range or the weather protection or the cargo capacity for long range riding. Like riding from Erie Pennsylvania to Daytona in March. You need to get behind a faring, and you need 12 V to power your heated grips, heated seats, and two electric vests.
    Electric motorcycles I’m sure will get less expensive, the cost of the batteries will come down, and the range will improve. But I don’t think we will see an electric motorcycle doing the Alcan highway,Or the iron butt 1000 mile day, or breaking the New York to Los Angeles record of under 39 hours on a motorcycle

      They were bought and integrated into the Victory lineup and Polaris decided this year to get rid of the brand. They are liquidating the inventory and offering up to 10 years warranty for the last produced models. They claim that they will do a rebadge of the electric Victory Empulse TT, former Brammo Empulse R but there are no clear signs and the Empulse RR was never sold to the public.

  • @zikzakfr
    @zikzakfr 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I agree. I wonder if Brammo can sell a version without the gearbox. Adding more mechanical pieces to an EV is usually not that good, Tesla tried and eventually removed the gearbox.
    Finally they try to improve the thing, that's good but still I'd like to see an EMPulse without the gearbox. At least we can count on Zero Motorcycles too :D

    I think it is very innovative bike but the milage and the battery.A Sunday run with the guys would be about 200 to 300 miles, and what if you have a battery based on i-phone technology then you would need to tow that charging station around with you.As far as I know that battery is most probably about 2 thirds of the price.Don't get me wrong am I am for cleaner technology but the batterys are in my opinion still not ready for this step.

    Brammo bikes looks amazing But I don't think electric vehicles needs a 6 gearbox it's strange for three phase motor when you can do it spin more changing the frequency.. anyaway nice bike.

    i dont like it there is no connection in the rider and the motorcycle like he said every rider should know tha connection level where he can release the clutch and accelerate for the right power and tha giftfull feeling of getting it perfect... future look bright good job

    Is 100 mph really that fast as a top speed? I mean, I get that it is no emissions, which is great, and probably jumps off the line a lot faster, but in terms of a top speed, you can buy gas powered bikes in this price range that would kill 100 mph.

    • @pol1250
      @pol1250 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Of course they would go much faster than 100mph but the software stops the torque at that speed. That is cause of efficiency reasons... but at this moment you are not ready for this bike because as long as you don't get the concept you will always find an excuse. Maybe when you grow up or get a little more experience in life you will get it...
