    Impressive technology and packaging
    @DUCATI; is the 150ps power out quoted the continuous race output? Does the Moto-E have a qualification operating mode where the power is increased for a short duration?
    The reason I ask is that I presume the Ducati Moto-E bike shares some key battery and battery cooling technology with Porsche. The Porsche mission R electric race car has a 82Kwh battery and a race power output of 603 hp, but also a qualification mode output of 1080hp.
    Scaled back to 18 kwh capacity of the Moto-E bike battery this would suggest a qualification mode output of over 230hp would be possible for a brief period of time

    Amazing that Ducati is the sole supplier for the series. How many laps can they get from the battery pack? When will Ducati release a street version? Will they make a Multistrada e bike or just a super sport version? Of course it will all boil down to how much will it cost and how many miles will you get from a charge. If it takes Jay Zelenograd type money Ducati will have a very small market.

      Combustionengines will stay for at least another 20 years, perhaps longer. Depends on our fuelresearch. :) But powerwise - electric engines are the way to go. Hopefully there will be new technologies for more efficient loading and storing of electricity without harming the natural enviroment so much.

    • @longdaysandhardworkatramra8260
      @longdaysandhardworkatramra8260 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Don't worry combustion will stay for racing because it is just better, performance wise and for the environment, you need to do about 50,000-150,000km of riding or driving an electric vehicle for it to break even emissions wise, so technically if they end up replacing battery packs with any regularity in motoE it will be worse for the environment than running MR12 fuel or whatever fuel they use.
      Same for boats and planes, electric just can not achieve the amount of energy potential as normal fuels, unless there is some AMAZING battery break through it is basically impossible.
      But yes ICE in cars will probably become a rarity one day, some countries have upcoming bans on new cars having ICE engines.
      Also keep in mind the ultra rich oil corporations won't go down without a fight, they will be doing as many underhanded deals with politicians and propaganda peddling as they can to keep their product available.

      @@longdaysandhardworkatramra8260, you can't fight if you don't have oil to sell. It will happen one day. However, for specific applications, like sport racing, you will still be able to run ICE for a while, whatever the price of oil and eventually they will be able to run with synthetic gas. So I won't worry about traditional car or motorcycle racing.
      It will still be interesting to have electric championship. Like in traditional racing, you see the innovation coming to market in regular car or motorcycle so it is good news.

      What does weight have to do with top speed? Top speed is determined solely by air resistance and the bike's power to overcome it. Weight is not a factor in the equation.
