I solved the loot goblin issue eons ago. Divvy up my mats into keep stacks and sell for currency stacks. If I’m not constantly checking on my loot I’m not overly concerned I’m lacking anything.
My usual go to for money is to dig down to bedrock and just mine for stone all night, depending on your perks 3 full stacks of stone can sell for over $5, 000
Finally caught up on this series so glad you're back playing 7d2d been watching since 7d2d first released to consoles thank you for all the years of entertainment
Scrapping items in your inventory will give you a single item, if you scrap an office chair it will give leather and nothing but. If you wrench an office chair it gives leather, mechanical parts, and iron. How much you get for wrenching is determined by your skill in salvage operations.
Always remember that you are playing games for fun so you do you. I am a horder and a loot goblin. Why do I need 10 stacks of brass and 20 stacks of cloth, just because I can. If I run out of room I'll just build another box. I go on car scrapping runs just to get them off the road and I even pick up the stone and tyres just to make it look good.
KAGE!!! Craft LOCKPICKS! They increase the value of both the iron and the mechanical parts that you use to make them. I'm sure there are better things, but they are easy!! Yes, get a wrenching set of armor, any quality, get a scrapping candy bar, and ONLY hit cars. I recommend any road but mainly any bridge. Sell engines, batteries, lights, and I even sell radiators in the beginning of the game. I haven't had to craft gas yet ever. I still have stacks of cloth from the cars, and I still have a lot of cars on the road to do!
I'm a real loot goblin, a straight up hoarder, I loot EVERYTHING in every POI, I take 95% of what I find home, if that means I have to make 2 trips so be it, only thing I never take are sham sandwiches. Dishong tower usually takes me a week to loot... Doesn't help that I play like a boy scout with the moto of always being prepared, meaning my inventory is pretty much always at least 1/3 full even before I start looting. I also wrench just about every car I see, especially the ones in the road, it bothers me them being in the road in my way, I make good money from it, especially all the radiators, and I am never in need of parts, by the time I get a 4x4 I usually have a stack of 10,000 gas even having used a bunch, all just from wrenching. I also pick up all the loot I find on the road and in the wilderness, garbage, bags, you name it, people underestimate the good stuff you can get in garbage, from weapon parts, to books, to gunpowder. It is not unusual for me to get so stocked up on things that I have to sell it because I have no more room, or I start doing things like using cloth to feed the forge because I have way too much. Nice thing is whenever I need something I always have it.
I feel u on that. I love looting and collecting the loot. Literally installed a mod for bigger inventory just cuz im such a loot goblin. Plus i rock a l6 drone with 4x cargo mod for more loot goblin mode and usualy make a pitstop mid POI to unload into my 4x4 or gyro XD. Once the bigger vehicle inventory mod gets updated ima use that too. Not really game breaking tbh. Just a QoL for us loot goblins XD. I wanna loot and the vehicle inv mod will let me do at least 2 maby 3 t6 POI before i gotta fly the 5.6k back home to unload instead of only 1 lmao
Completely understand. It would be boring to watch. Wrenching cars is a way to make a fast buck with low risk once you have a wrench. Poly and looting outside houses is low risk on day 1 to buy stuff. Lovin your vids man!
I'm a hoarder in games like this too. I loot EVERYTHING then start selling off the extra stacks I know I won't need once I have a ton of certain things. Then I know I always have a stack or two, then I sell the rest (what ever).
I got into this game because of you... and the 1.0 beta. Not a big fan of zombie games... or extra grindy survival games, but this just does not seem to be bad. There is a learning curve and I had to slow some stuff down because I kept dying, but I am getting the hang of it. I got rank 3 iron tools. I have Assassin's armor rank 3 and a legendary crossbow. I am set on food and water and doing OK on meds (except antibiotics. I am building my minibike and just got the third trader.
I don't mind doing some wrenching but.... if it's 'a grind' the way some games are (example, Subsistence for ore (although I love the game)) then no, I'm not for it. One of the many things I've always loved about 7DTD is that nothing felt like 'a grind', there'd be short stints where you'd need clay for building or shale for fuel but not what I'd consider a grind. You could spend a couple in-game hours, get what you need and be covered for a bit. But yeah, if it comes to wrenching everything you see, always, then 'the pimps' need to rectify that.
It's not a grind especially once u have tier 6 salvage gloves and buy some hackers especially if u have atheist three point in salvage operations I wrench alot though but I'll make about 25k in a day I am thw one that started this wrench trend I commented about it the 2nd day it was out too the public also the best poi in game now are salvage country's for armor parts and legendary crafting bundles electrical parts if u have a stack sell for just about 9k
@@benbaker4198 It’s not a grind, especially if you’re already at the end of all the progression you’ll ever do… I’m not trying to pick on you, just… I think this is what you call the “humble brag.”
You don't feel it's quick because you have a quality 3 wrench. Would you mine with a quality 3 stone axe? Of course not. A wrench is like the wood club: something that can barely do the job and you want to get rid of it as soon as possible. You need something that will wrench everything in one or two hits. In particular, there's some stuff in the kitchen that has 100 durability: coffee machines and toasters. If you aren't wrenching them in one hit, you need better tools. The microwave has 200 durability, so if you can one hit toasters, you can two hit them. Computers, monitors and TVs also have 100 durability and are pretty common in bedrooms, living rooms and offices.
You have CRS ( can’t remember shit) The second you put down a chest outside a POI you’ll forget what you have on it. Remember when you wasted resources to make sunglasses just to find you already had them outside the trader?!!
I personally disassemble vehicles for parts and scrap everything then i make minibike handle bars and sell them they stack to 50 an i think every stack is like 18000 dukes
And just a FYI quests in this game are silly your getting a reward and dukes for looting pretty much so your getting payment and rewards for something you already have too do too survive
Its a hoarder problem you got plus the playstyle. The inventory issues is you take a lot of junk with you when questing. Idk why folks say wrenching I hate wrenching with a passion and rather spam tier 1 or 2 quests since they give easy locations that tend to have a lot of polymer and can sell the end loot for easy money. Brass is another thing that sells for a lot and you do find plenty in loot along with breaking down doors for brass if you got that book which lets you get brass from doors.
I have awhile yet till I can unlock my auger, and it makes me sad. I really miss having it 😢. Besides easier mining, its great fun when dealing with surprise Zombies 😂. I love the idea of a POI box. If it works out for me, it may stave off the craving for the extra storage mod. And Kage, I was thinking, would it make sense for you to leave a piece of armor or two in the box? Like maybe bring the Nerd armor with you to take care of the books on site? That way you have more space for other things? I have a place near my home base that spawns Legendary boxes, however, i can't seem to locate it anymore. I spent the better part of an hour looking for it, and its either in front of my face (where i usually can't find anything!) or it no longer exists! As a loot goblin, even I detest wrenching every little thing. However, when I can start getting acid from vehicles, its on! Then i determine if I determine if I can use the items in a future craft or not. If not, then it gets sold. I can usually make a solid amount, but it still isn’t as much as it used to be. It does make more sense, the nerfing, and like you said, it is just frustrating.
I always end up with overflowing inventory ineery game I ever played I feel your pain ifyou are not having fun you won’t be able to make a fun video to watch make sure to play it your way and keep having a good time it shines through in your vids
I think its harder to grind and collect resources when you have to put out a entertaining youtube video. I always leave a chest and if I need it I can come back
In short: If you wrench couches and upholstered chairs in a house you get a buck or two quite often. We all fixate on different things and I always worry about leather so I was wrenching couches and chairs in houses and I saw a dollar... two dollars... and thought that was pretty cool. If this was always the case I never saw that. Imagine taking apart couches in homes you've had. You'd for sure find some change. And since they don't have change in the game... dollars! I think that sort of attention to detail needs to be recognized and praised.
@@midnighttoker9268 Cool! Didn't know that one. Doesn't quite fit the story though. I'm pretty sure Dukes became a thing after the apocalypse and I doubt anyone was enforcing parking laws!! HAA! But I'm glad I know that now. Thanks.

Hagashi definitely had something to do with it, and underground crime syndicates also seemed to be involved, not to mention the government.
I love that TFP are pushing you to "make it yourself". It seems appropriate for a game that has mining/crafting/harvesting. If you can easily buy everything you need then what's the point of doing any of those activities? I'm trying to make myself just buy things that I can't make or that are a genuine PITA to make. Installation Blue Ridge is annoying in that it's so thinly underground you constantly have wandering zombies banging on the outside. For a real "wow" moment (or two), look for a tier 3 POI called "the Serrano Residence". It's an older POI that got an amazing makeover...makes me think of Sons of the Forest now.

How about getting good mining skills and selling turret ammo? Has that been nerfed? I used to prefer this method of getting money, as metal nodes are not as scarce as electrical and mechanical parts.
